Iraq came back from being down 2-0 to Jordan to win 3-2 in a thrilling first half and a dominating second half in the final of WAFF championship on Saturday. A break through in the last minute of the second half, gave Iraq the needed equalizer through an accurate pass from the Iraqi forward Razzaq Farhan to the new comer, 18 year old Yunis Mahmood who recieved it with his right foot and let go a kick with his left that saw the far end of the Jordanian goal keeper. The winning golden goal came in the 13 min of the first extra time, when a corner kick found the head of Iraq's captain Hayder Mahmood who rose to the occasion and left the Jordanian players in utter amazement. The winning goal sent the large Iraqi fans into a frenzy.

For 3rd place, Iran beat Syria in PK's 4-2 after drawing 2-2 in regular time.

Congratulations to Iraq.... They deserved to win the tournament. They played better than all the teams.
