    Our Euro-based stars will not be present because this is just a friendly match, scheduled on a non-FIFA day. This is a great opportunity for us to try some new faces, anyways.

    I'd like to see these line-ups:

    First-half:

    -------------------Rahmati---------------------------
    --Kaebi-----Hosseini---Ghorbani-----Alenemeh---
    ------------------K.Rahmati--------------------------
    -----------Bao-----------------Hajsafi---------------
    -------------------Bagheri----------------------------
    -------------Rezaei-------Nikki----------------------

    Second-half:

    ---------------------Mohammadi----------------------
    Gholamnejad---Hosseini---Montazeri-----Zare-------
    -----------------------M.Zare--------------------------
    -----------Karimian-------------Hajsafi---------------
    -----------------------M.Nouri----------------------------
    -----------------Rezaei------Salehi----------------------

    I'm curious to see whether Rezaei has better chemistry with Nikki or Salehi. Personally, I think Nikki is far more talented than Salehi, but we'll see how they do for TM this time around.

    Interesting that Daei decided to cut Borhani... I guess Arash needs to work on his shots/goal ratio ;).

    I also think it's a shame that Daei didn't invite Khosro Heydari, who has been consistently awesome for Esteghlal. He needs a chance to play for TM!

    NOTE: I believe Jabbari is injured and won't be present for either the Qatar or the UAE match.

    Damn! Bagheri is back. It's a shame, he could've had such a brillant career in TM.

    Shame would be if Bagheri were invited to TM in the fantastic form he's in, more than able to help TM win games, and he rejected the offer.

    No shame in offering your duties when your nation needs them. I'm sure Karim cares much more for the good of the national team than that of himself.

    You misunderstood me. I said it's a shame because he did'nt have a longer career in TM. Actually it was Bagheri himself who turned his back to the national team after 1998.

    I's good to see him back.

    Well, Nickbakht didn't manage to get on the flight!! His passport was with Perspolis apparently...

    And he'd only just pipped Borhani to the spot.

    The game most probably wont be broadcasted, because the Qatari coach doesn't wanna show his team's secret.

    Pathetic fools.

    Halftime: 0-0

    I can't stand Rafkhaei. I never liked him to begin with. He should be ejected from the game for diving so shamefully. He had a couple of pretty decent chances to make something happen, and he chose to blatantly dive. I can't believe he didn't get carded!

    On other notes:

    Bagheri is a bit sloppy... Not terrible, but not so hot...

    M.Zare has actually been quite good, to my surprise, although he and M.Nouri have made a couple of dangerous mistakes.

    The only other thing worth noting is that Rahmati has been quite sloppy... I hope he cleans up for the 2nd half (and for the upcoming WCQ matches, obviously).

    I expect to see Bao, Salehi, and maybe K.Rahmati, Alenemeh, Montazeri, and Talebloo introduced at some point in the 2nd half.

    Agreed. Ravkhai's been awful to say the least.

    The ref is a mess, at some point he was about to pick a fight with one of the Qatari players.

    I'm hoping to see Hajsafi getting some playing time.

    Bagheri was alright, considering its his first match with TM after 7 years, and that were playing Qatar's full squad in Doha.

    Ratings: 1-10 (worst-best)

    M.Rahmati= 6 (wasn't seriously tested, but was shaky on a couple of plays)

    Hosseini=6.5
    Ghorbani= 6
    Kaabi= 6.5
    S.Zare=6

    M.Zare= 5.5 (played well in the 1st half, not so well in the 2nd)
    Bagheri= 5.5
    Khalatbari= 4 (invisible)
    M.Nouri= 6

    Rezaei= 7
    Rafkhaei= 3

    Alenemeh= 3.5 (shame... Really played poorly)
    Gholamnejad= 7 (a great option for RM, in my opinion)

    Bao= 4.5 (tried hard, but couldn't get anything done)
    Salehi= 5 (tried hard, but couldn't get anything done)

    K.Rahmati= N/A
    Talebloo= N/A

    While I still like Kaabi at RB, Gholamnejad has proven to be a solid player that deserves playing time. I don't trust his defensive skills, however, which is why I'd only like to see him at RM/RW. His passing is really quite good.

    S.Zare played much better than Alenemeh today... Period. I like Alenemeh and I do think he had a really "off" day today, but in any case, I think Zare remains a much safer choice than him.

    Bagheri looked pretty slow and sloppy today, and I don't think he should start against the UAE.

    M.Zare played pretty well in the first half, especially defensively. In the second half, however, he made a couple of dangerous errors due to slow-thinking.
