He’s also a spazz that does unpredictable stuff based on the last person he talked to anything and everything is on the table
Day Fifteen of Iran’s Nationwide Protests: Sharp Rise in Human Casualties - Hrana Death toll steadily rising, Trump contemplating strong options ... US reviewing 'very strong' options regarding Iran, Trump says | Iran International Trump says US military considering ‘very strong options’ for Iran | News | Al Jazeera Trump says he is considering ‘very strong’ military options against Iran as protester death toll climbs | Iran | The Guardian "At least 538 people have been killed in the violence surrounding demonstrations, according to the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency, including 490 protesters. The group reported more than 10,600 people were arrested by Iranian authorities." Trump says Iran starting to cross US red lines amid deadly protests | Fox News "Trump spoke to reporters aboard Air Force One while traveling from Palm Beach, Florida, back to Washington, D.C., after being asked whether Iran had crossed a threshold that would trigger a response. "They're starting to, it looks like, and there seem to be some people killed that aren't supposed to be killed," the president said. "These are violent — if you call them leaders, I don't know if their leaders or just if they rule through violence. And, we're looking at some very strong options. We’ll make a determination.""
That’s not helping me feel more sanguine; every single poster here has better judgment than Trump, and that includes the trolls, and every one of you knows I’m right about that.
The Iranian government seems to be going after Starlink holders, taking the devices and arresting the owners. Ones they can't find are being jammed with military-grade technology. It's going to be harder to get videos out.
Considering they drag wounded protesters from hospitals without any medical care, probably nothing good.
I just find it funny and interesting that those who are lecturing Iran on human rights also did this / supported this or this
I also find it funny that those who were on the streets and college campuses (and on internet forums) decrying events in Gaza are now all of a sudden sitting quietly at home sipping their tea, somehow ambivalent about the events and human suffering in Iran.
You'll have a hard time finding anyone supporting the Islamic Revolution. However, parading Reza Pahlavi around and directly intervening for yet another failed regime change isn't a solution either. Maybe the real issue is that we keep creating conditions where authoritarian governments become the only way for nations to survive foreign intervention. Advocating for the status quo hardly demonstrates concern for civilians — it's cynically selective, especially considering how silent many were when those same civilians were being pre‑emptively bombed during the 12‑day war. The choice to arm groups in Iran instead of investing in peaceful protests was truly stupid - more western hubris. (burning mosques? really?) This eliminated all chances for the movement seeking greater change and freedom. Those advocating for this proves how little F they give to the Iranian population and how little they think of them
As long the people doing the killing not imperialists it is ok. https://www.savethechildren.net/new...3-months-war-more-one-child-killed-every-hour https://www.savethechildren.net/news/yemen-85000-children-may-have-died-starvation-start-war Look at how many children died in Yemen yet the very same people are rooting for Houthis and HAMAS Assad killed lots of Palestinians. They were still go go Assad go Assad its your birthday
Ah, so all those protests are not against Israel, they are against US giving money to Israel. Silly me, I must have missed that as the main message. I also didn't realize Hillel houses and synagogues house US policy decision makers on US foreign aid policy. I also didn't realize one has to provide funds to another country in order to protest against human suffering .
Hopefully Iranian protestors weren't taking Trump at his word... Iran holds pro-government rally as regime seeks to downplay protests | Iran | The Guardian "The Norway-based NGO Iran Human Rights said it had confirmed 648 people killed during the protests, including nine minors, and thousands more injuries, but warned the death toll was probably much higher – “according to some estimates more than 6,000”, it said."
France 24 and ABC (Australian BBC), among others, are citing reports of machine guns being used. Time reports having video of "technicals" - pickups with machine guns mounted in the back - strafing residential street. The regime is going for broke now. Be very sceptical of reports speaking of 10k dead, but today is Monday. It will be different on Friday
It is ironic that many posters who oppose Donald Trump don't find it strange that he seemingly cares more about protestors in Iran than he does soccer mom's in America. You don't find it odd that you and Donald Trump agree about something? Look the take that Robert and I have is nuanced. But I promise you, we have the same goals which is the maximum amount of human decency, respect, and general livelihood for all people. We just have a different view on what's causing some of the problems. And I haven't seen anyone make a solid argument as to how American sanctions aren't directly responsible for the economic crisis in Iran. As much as everyone loves to hate on Socialism here, the only Socialist country (China) that has ever been allowed to join the World Trade Organization has been a smashing success. To its critics that say its a Capitalistic country, why do it's leaders still read Marxist/Maoist Text? Why do they steal say their goals are total socialism?
Agreed!! I'm saying that this doesn't happen in a vacuum. And American Sanctions lead to this. The Sanctions are "justified" because of things what exactly? When Iran had Democracy and they nationalized their oil what happened to them? Regime Change.
The repressive mullah regime led to this. The sanctions are justified because Iran has been a belligerent, hostile actor on the world stage since '79. Iran's posture (vis-à-vis the west) has consistently been "Death to America!" and "Death to Israel!" and, they have pursued their stated aim, (to bring about the destruction of Israel), relentlessly, by funding proxy militias, terrorism and jihad. They have mismanaged the country so badly that they are almost out of water, they hang people all the time, chop off their fingers and torture them for dissent, the economy is in free fall because they have predicated the survival of their evil regime entirely on hatred for the Jews and their US enablers... ...I know you want to blame this country for the collapse of Iranian regime (good lord willing)...but that is an ignorant, misguided take.
How nuanced is Death to America! Death to Israel! that’s quite literally their whole schtick. Always has been.
Most of them will never see past the lenses of American exceptionalism This below is accurate - 2008705522166305172 is not a valid tweet id
Obviously there were many different types of people who were protesting of all different types of backgrounds ... even Jewish Americans. As it relates to the College protests, yes I believe that plays a big role. If you remember many were asking their Universities to financially divest from Israel. I think it's disingenuous to portray all protests as the same and treat them as the same group of people.
