He's still unique.

The one thing Trump has done, that almost no other politician has achieved is too build a para-social relationship with his core base. That's been foundational to his success to date. Whether that's intentional or accidental, I'm not sure, but that's the reality.

He's truly unique and has been able to pull off political pivots no other politician can.

Nobody else currently in politics will be able to control MAGA in the same way.

 

Bahrain Petroleum Company being hit hard by Iran. It is the refinery that processes virtually all of Bahrain’s domestic petroleum output, sitting on an island of 800 square kilometers that also hosts Naval Support Activity Bahrain, the headquarters of the United States Fifth Fleet. It can be viewed as a message - they can be hit by Iran whenever it wants and despite US presence who failed to intercept the missiles.

There was a lot of talk in the Gaza thread about “hiding behind civilians”.

Apparently, to avoid the ballistic missile attacks, many of the US soldiers and sailors on the bases in the Gulf kingdoms had been moved off base and into civilian hotels. Those hotels are now being attacked by Iranian drones. See around 3 minutes in here:

I am not sure you can talk about Iran escalating when the initial shot in the war was Israel assassinating all of Iran's civilian and military leadership. The only way you escalate from a decapitation strike is to use nukes.

 

Also, UAE billionaire calling out Trump. Noteworthy because: (1) his hotel tried to get me to attend a timeshare presentation two months ago and was really annoying about it, and (2) there's no way someone like this would tweet something like this without permission.

If this goes on much longer, expect to see the UAE and Saudi Arabia buying arms from China once the war ends.

 

Worth pointing out the timing of this potential move by Russia. Cutting off Europe now when GCC energy infrastructure are under attack would have a devastating effect on Europe.

Haven’t seen anyone linking this yet. Reports coming out that US service members have been told by their commanders that they have been telling them that Trump was appointed by Jesus to bring about the conditions for revelations to usher in the return of Jesus. Hundreds of them have registered complaints. It’s been floating around for a few days. Like you all I understand skepticism, but this is the type of report that would absolutely be kept out of the controlled domestic media and would remind you all we are living under authoritarianism.

FWIW, this tracks with some conversations I had with my brother last year who has free fallen down the alt right pipeline….

Part II of Iran-US war lecture - Law of asymetry. I was less convinced about his assessment of the reasons about the war but seeing declarations from the Lindsey Graham who reduces all of this as a religious war (crazy) - This might explain why he's going there near the end.

The video is from June 2025 so the offer most likely was made post Oct 7 so maybe end 2024.

 

The number of Jews who migrated to Israel (from all origins) after the war was a tiny fraction of the number killed in the holocaust (like 10%). Europe excluding the Soviet Union had over 1.5 million Jews in 1950 (another 2 million in the soviet union) at the peak of the migration

It is untrue that Europe used Israel to complete the final solution.
