I've come across a bunch of things in which the CIA knew stuff was illegal, but they said nothing because it would compromise some kind of intelligence operative or means of gathering information. And I don't necessarily mean things like war crimes or murder or stuff like that, but along the line of low level drug dealing, or theft or GTA. And when dealing with compromising information, there is a balance that is weighed, such as burning an asset or means of surveillance versus capturing the criminal. That apart, how would Carlson know if he is being monitored?
Ok. But there were half a dozen US soldiers killed in Kuwait in the first day or so. So this raises serious questions about the planning. FFS the israeli-American forces Pearl Harboured the Iranians, not vice versa, they shouldn’t have been surprised by any of this. The Democrats should be Benghazi-ing the heck out of this. The whole thing has been amateur hour.
No, the Big Lie was that Iraq posed a threat to anyone besides their own people because of them. Sorry -- I posted before reading the thousands of other posts, LOL. Ne need to resurrect whatever argument was going on.
Nah ... what this post means is that the war started with the Revolution in 79. He is blaming Obama and Biden for unfreezing their funds which was used to arm the country and fund proxies.
A Kuwaiti military transport aircraft is coming back home after visiting Poland. I suspect they picked up some Ukrainian knick-knacks at the duty free.
In the hypothesis that this is true, I'd imagine he has connections. Plus, there is the speculation that his father was CIA. This guy is all sorts of fun.
We’re talking about a president who famously had to have his presidential daily briefs dumbed down to three bullets on a PowerPoint presentation because he was incapable of reading and understanding the PDB from our intelligence community. we’re also talking about someone who has surrounded himself with the most incompetent and psychophantic (tm) cabinet in history. There is zero chance Trump would ever be able to comprehend or understand a full briefing of the countless war gaming exercises we have completed that would have paid out all the risks…and that’s even assuming Hegseth would even allow him to see it. This war is the result of this administration’s war on expertise…on any subject matter.
Sadly, we can't even rely on either Republicans or his Cabinet to get him out of office. But he has to go before he destroys the world further.
That Swedish extreem rightwinger gets proven right with his remark that "Trump is the opposite of king Midas, everything he touches turns to shit" with each minute that passes.
Interview with Iranian ambassador to the U.K. around 10 mins in here. For me he is a weak communicator, levels below Aragchi. He puts forward the main lines for the Iranian government but is not convincing when he makes his points.
Christ all mighty, I'm only 2 minutes in and it is already crazy. I know, expected, but man, oh, man. At least he hasn't started talking about the drapes...yet. Got almost 9 minutes before I had to walk away, but man, he is...I remember once I was at a conference and on the final day, I was asked to sit at the front and answer questions. I had only gotten about 4 or 5 hours of sleep the prior night and I was really tired. One of those questions, I just rambled and rambled and realized it. Other than realizing it, that is what Trump sounds like in this question and answer (and several others).
Have you not been following Trump all these years? He has charisma, and knows how to deliver a line for TV or a crowd, but overall he has never been a good communicator. And I think a lot of that boils down to his lack of intellectual curiosity and that he doesn't understand how rhetoric works. And he doesn't know planning beyond what he wants in the short term. All of that badgering of NATO allies in his first term, and his tariffs on Europe and disrespecting NATO allies in this term, is coming back to harm him. He views it as zero sum, that he (and I mean Trump, not the US) wins and somebody else loses. If he understood how language and rhetoric worked, he'd have provided an out for those he is disrespecting (and this includes Iran) and would be able to handle this much better.
I was talking about the Iranian ambassador being a weak communicator. He makes the points his government wants to make, but makes them unconvincingly. I don’t know if he is a political hire or a career diplomat, but making a public case in the English language is not his strength. Trump is a great communicator to the masses. He is just a mediocre thinker. He is not stupid, he is something way more dangerous. Average intelligence but thinks he is a genius. I don’t know if it was here that someone was comparing Trump with the late Ayatollah and saying the Ayatollah’s main skill was reading the Quran, but Khamenei was very erudite and his favourite fiction book was Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables. Trump has probably only read the Art Of The Deal and Mein Kampf. Aragchi is a great communicator and also highly strategic. I have been very impressed with him throughout.
The revolution was masterminded by the southern wealthy planter class and the northern mercantilists to defend their position of power in colonial society from an effort to take more central control of colonies accustomed to home rule, risking the business structures they had built up. There's a non-silly argument to be made.
nah….just Putin….but way dumber and surrounded by people way dumber than Putin surrounds himself with.
