A resounding no from France - being a d1ck to allies isn't sound diplomacy after all 'Stop the scaremongering': France says 'no' to sending warships to Strait of Hormuz.Iran war latest ⬇️ https://t.co/MzARAOg98H— Sky News (@SkyNews) March 14, 2026
One could say if a leader was on Russia's side and was trying their damndest to undermine Western democracy...his name would be Trump.
He's insane: https://trumpstruth.org/statuses/37307 So, basically, he's going with the opposite of the Pottery Barn Rule: Trump broke it, so now he thinks the world owns it and should fix it. And he says this after he fcuked over the rest of the world with tariffs and other assorted stupidity. Remember Greenland! And he says this after he said this a week ago: https://trumpstruth.org/statuses/37204 ARE YOU FCUKING KIDDING ME!
In a more sane world, where leaders had a spine and no desire to bail the ********er out, the response would be, "thank you for the invitation, but like you said not too long ago, we are very good at staying away from the frontlines. We are going to do that again this time."
Problem is we are all looking at a global catastrophe thanks to genius Bibi mowing the lawn. Amazing how many countries still treat this guy as an ally when he supports the antieurope vatniks in Washington, Budapest etc. insane.
The Danes should offer to take over the US military bases in Bahrain, Qatar and Oman. They should say they need them for national security.
No they can't. Unlike Ukraine, Iran isn't a democracy so the hardliners will continue even if Israel and the US stop bombing. Trump and Bibi have so ********ed everything up. It's why you don't do wars of choice!
well they can end their attacks anyway. they don’t need Iran to do anything to stop the carnage. The framing really annoys me.
So apparently israel is back to it's gaza tactics in lebanon. Bombing medical facilities. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/mar/14/lebanon-israeli-rockets-kill-healthcare-workers Some light genociding is back on the menu. Seems israel just likes that.
The photos from across Iran are shocking. There is zero justification for this and it’s led us to a global crisis just as was long predicted by never trumpers and democrats and sane people. this is why US foreign policy was load bearing. It held back some of the dumbest ideas whereas now Bibi can wage war continuously in multiple countries for over 2 years. when will the lawn be mowed exactly?
Retired US Army General calls it the Jolene Doctrine, after Dolly Parton's song. I'd say it also ties in with the masculinity issues Hegseth, Trump, etc have - they feel they have to prove their masculinity and so rely on war to solve any problems they have. (Thanks Jordan Peterson!)
There seems a lot of confusion over whether the pentagon has contingency plans for the straits (yes) versus the lack of interagency process and operational plan in this case. If the contingency planning was not activated into an operational plan before the war started this is what you end up with. And we know that this white house basically has no NSA function and the key decision makers were Witkoff, Kushner and Rubio. As often happens in war, risks were taken that didn’t pan out thanks to unrealistic assessment But that is typical of everything that Trump has done in geopolitics eg tariffs.
The type of language the israelis use for their massacres really is something. Is it only the israelis who are allowed to mow the lawn, or can we say Hamas also mowed the lawn when they launched widespread attacks on the israelis?
"FCC chair threatens to throttle news broadcasts over ‘hoaxes’ about Iran war Brendan Carr posts that he may cancel spectrum permits of ‘mainstream news’ outlets for ‘misleading’ coverage" https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/mar/14/fcc-broadcast-permits-iran-war-news I wonder what the reaciton of free speech absolutists or the general public is on this one. Threatening wide spread media censorship over unflattering media coverage of the current regime should be abhorrent to any true blooded american right?
Stalingrad is one of the most famous examples of this. General staff planners foresaw the risk to Army Group A in the Caucus' campaign, if Sixth Army overreacted outside Stalingrad. Which is why the original operational plan called for Sixth Army to hold a blocking position and not attack Stalingrad. But OKH, seeing Stalingrad could be plucked, decided to go for it, but too late - then underestimated the dangers of continuing. This is actually one of the main dangers of the leader being a psychopath surrounded by toadies.
Trump appears to be very much the 19th century warlord hellbent on empire building. The world view appears to be to destroy all the international alliances, and then coerce individual nations to give tribute via military threats. I am sure he will come back to Greenland and Canada.
The fact that he recently once again referred to Canada's PM as "Governor" suggests he has not forgotten them. Of course, if he feels annexing Greenland is critical to America's defense, then doing the same with Canada would likely be as well given their respective locations. But Kamala had that laugh and Hillary those e-mails.
I always go back to an interview with him decades ago where he said the US and USSR should join together as the nuclear heavy weights to bully pakistan into doing things. IMO it summaries how he says Geopolitics and war. Especially his view of Europe and Middle east are weak and divided states that are subjugated to the US
