It does if there’s a critical mass of them. It means the ruling is totally worthless as there can be no real consequences (aside from the financial penalties.
We all know there is a critical mass that will always believe that their orange clown is the second coming of Jesus.....That should not invalidate the jury's decision.
US Embassy in Norway attacked. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/explosion-reported-near-u-s-embassy-oslo-norway/ An explosion at one of the entrances to the U.S. Embassy in Norway's capital, Oslo, is under investigation, Norwegian police reported on Sunday. There were no casualties or injuries, and only minor damages at the building, they said in a statement to CBS News. The explosion occurred around 1 a.m. local time, Oslo police said, adding that a "loud bang" was reported at the scene. Investigators had been examining the area while dogs, drones and helicopters were also involved in the search "for one or more potential perpetrators," according to police. They haven't identified any suspects so far, police said at a news conference. Meanwhile, in Belgium a synagogue was attacked. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c39wy142j8ro A synagogue in the Belgian city of Liège was damaged in an explosion in the early hours of Monday, police have said. The blast happened at around 04:00 local time (03:00 GMT) in front of the synagogue and damaged windows across the street but caused no injuries, according to officers. Willy Demeyer, the city's mayor, called the incident "an antisemitic act", while Prime Minister Bart De Wever said later on social media: "We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community." The Belgian federal prosecutor's office, which handles terrorism and organised crime, is leading the investigation, an official said.
I think Shia doctrine about who the Imams are and the role of the Ahl-al-Bayt is inconsistent with this statement.
Another tweet from UAE billionaire, who's basically started acting as UAE regime spokesman at this point, in response to Lindsay Graham saying the gulf countries should join the war. It's kind of shocking how harsh it is and you wonder if it calls into question the UAE/Israel alliance. And about time someone said the part I bolded below (and if someone that highly placed in the UAE hierarchy is saying that, highly likely that MBZ is thinking it). 2030961911089729555 is not a valid tweet id I'm pasting the translation below: I heard the statements of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, in which he calls on the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to enter this war, saying that we are also under attack and that we must join the fight. And I say to him clearly: We know full well why we are under attack, and we also know who dragged the entire region into this dangerous escalation without consulting those he calls his "allies" in the region. We thank God that the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are doing well, and we have no need for someone who claims he came to the Middle East to save us. The truth is that hasty American decisions are what embroiled the region in a war whose peoples were not party to its decision-making, and its local allies were not consulted before it was launched. We do not deny the Iranian threat to the region, which has become clear in recent days. We do not trust Iran. But this is a dirty game in which several powers clash at the expense of our region, with no honor in it and no transparency. In this scene, Iran, Israel, and the United States all move according to their own interests, not according to the interests of the peoples of the Middle Eastern Arab countries. And for this reason, we say it clearly: We will not enter this war to serve the interests of others, nor will we sacrifice our sons in a conflict that could have been avoided through diplomacy and political solutions. We value the lives of our sons, and we do not treat their souls as "collateral damage" as some do. Nothing in this world is more precious than the lives of our sons, and no alliance with any country in the world is worth risking these lives. If President Donald Trump and Senator Graham are prepared to risk their country and the lives of Americans for Israel's interests, that is their choice. As for us, we will not do the same. Senator Graham says they are "the Arabs' allies" and that we need and benefit from U.S. protection. And I say to him: We do not need your protection. All we want from you is to keep your hands off us. He also says: "We sell you weapons." As if that were a service the United States provides us. The truth is that this is no favor from anyone. We invest in our security and pay billions of dollars for these weapons, and it is a massive trade and industry built on these deals. In fact, the United States itself is now turning to buy weapons from Ukraine to supply its allies in other wars. This is an industry that thrives on wars and arms sales, not a charitable endeavor. And the clearest thing of all is what Senator Graham himself said when he spoke about oil. He stated that Iran and Venezuela together hold 31% of global oil reserves, and that the United States could establish a partnership with this share of the world's oil, and that it would be a "nightmare for China"—he even added that if the regime in Iran changes, there would be a "new Middle East," and the United States would "make a lot of money." Only then does the picture become clear. And only then do we understand why they want this war. Finally, I say to Senator Graham: You may be a senator in the U.S. Senate, but anyone who hears your statements might think you're a member of the Israeli Knesset, because you defend Israel's interests more than you defend the interests of the American people themselves. The peoples of our region have the right to live in security and stability, far from others' wars. We also have the right to decide how to protect our interests and security, and to emerge from crises we did not create but which were imposed on us as a result of conflicts between powers vying for influence in this region. We want peace and stability. We will not accept being forced down the path of war, nor will we accept being fuel for others' battles.
Their Imams are spiritual not temporal, as I understand it. I am sure Khomeini was against hereditary rulership, and I am Khameini elder was also against it.
Timothy Snyder: "A purpose of the war on Iran might well be to provoke a terrorist attack inside the United States. This would provide Donald Trump with a pretext to try to cancel or “federalize” the coming Congressional elections." https://snyder.substack.com/p/the-desire-for-terror
The most cut and dried case was the one where he stole documents, stashed them at Mar a Lago, and then moved them around. That was inarguably a crime. It was not a mistake. It wasn’t an accident. And he was 110% guilty. If kampgruppe comes back, that’s the one to hit him with.
Yes. especially because what anyone knows about a trial these days is intermediated by idiots and grifters.
I’m gobsmacked. Democrats should put that shit on a loop in digital ads that men under 25 will see. Every Republican senator not up for election this year is lucky as hell.
According to this tweet, the recent air strikes killed many of the new leader’s family. Not just his dad, but his mom and wife too. Among others. So, not inclined to compromise. (Reuters) - Analysts say Iran's choice of Mojtaba Khamenei to succeed his father as Supreme Leader locks hardliners firmly in control in Tehran. Mojtaba is a deeply hardline cleric whose father, wife, mother and other family members were also killed in U.S.–Israeli strikes -…— Phil Stewart (@phildstewart) March 8, 2026
I should have never made a comment. I am still here Dave. He was allowed to have documents under the presidential records act. The prosecution tried to have their case redacted but the judge ordered them to unredact it. The prosecution said that it is not unusual for a president to retain records through the next president's full term. Donald Trump legally had the records and assigned a guy to turn them in. Everything was proceeding normally. They raided him on an annoumous tip but I don't remember what for. They raided the day before an election despite knowing he had the documents the entire time. In fact they returned sensitive documents back to him so they would be there when they raided. The documents were stored in a neat and tidy fashion and they then proceeded to lay them all over and took doctored photos which the prosecution admitted to in court. Look it up Dave this is all public knowledge
I am assuming a journalist set her up for that, and if so it shows how stupid she is. Hegseth has been running around trying to show how “clever” he is (unlike all you dummies out there) by not taking anything off the table to ensure that Iran doesn’t know the US limits. So some journalist has probably trapped her by asking her if they can at least take a draft off the table, and instead of being smart and saying “we have the best military, we don’t need a draft to beat Iran”, she has followed Hegseth in saying “we’re too clever to take anything off the table, all options are open to this president”. They should ask her if they will at least take a nuclear attack on Iran off the table.
Ahhh, but what about a draft of just Ivy League students? Something Trumplandia and Dem leadership could rally behind.
