I was just wondering why FIllippo Inzaghi wasnt in the Italy squad for Euro 2004. It caught me by surprise to be truthful. So if any of you know the reason for that, that owuld be great thanks.
Well, compared to the other strikers picked his form this season was the worst, he was very inconsistent when he did play and didn't live up to his potential.
He did not really start for AC Milan this season. When he played, he was off target. He did score many goals for Italy during qualifyings. He had liked 4 to 5 goals in the last 3 to 4 qualifying matches. But then, he was injuried about a month ago. He has declared himself recovered, but has not played a match. This is the prime reason why he was dropped.
That is the reason why Trap said he didn't select him. But he did tell Inzaghi he would reevaluate his pysical condition on June 2nd by an Azzurri doctor. Trap was not true to his word. And all the criticisms of Pippo this year could be thrown at Del Piero as well. But as we all know now, Del Piero is guaranteed a spot on the Italian side no matter how badly he is playing.
