Shouldn't it be done on how much traffic each gets? Thread following is automatic based on posts - so my guess is that following of threads is a default behaviour.
Obviously a number of us uncheck that default, because we prefer to follow forums, not threads. I only follow a select few threads in forums I don't frequent.
This, when the new software first rolled out last year it was immediately one of the biggest complaints in the thread like this, highly annoying to be constantly notified about that stuff if you don't want to be. In fact I believe they had to add an option to not be notified about it at all.

Yes. I now am of the opinion that it must be a personnel issue, i.e. they used to have someone who could make such a change to the "My" button/tab, but that person is gone now?
You're right. I have my own workaround which is click Forums, then Watched Threads (which they shifted awhile back so I'm still relearning the new tab order) Hey Jitty two random questions: 1) Who is that gal in your avatar? 2) Didn't you used to be Jitty Sitter not Jitty Slitter? (or did I just never notice that L?)
Hmm - I had asked to change to my going to threads because also assumed most followed by threads - but since there isn't a consensus, I'll see if we can have both tabs available if we can't fix My.
Well it's hardly a large sample size, but the poll I made about this: https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/...re-should-my-go-to-threads-or-forums.1994502/ is currently at 7 to 2, Threads over Forums. However, one or more posters have said that the way it was just before this last update broke it, was that clicking "My" took you to one page which listed Watched Threads at top, and Watched Forums at below. Seems like a good compromise to me (and I suspect others). Plus if it's true that they did it this way before (I can't recall honestly) then presumably they wouldn't mind redoing it again now. This all assumes that there is someone technical who can do this for BS.com.
I used to use it every time I logged into Bigsoccer. I didn't bookmark the "Watched Threads" link like smarter people like yourself But once they "messed it up" I ended up doing the 2-click thing: Forums, Watched Threads. Just was really easy the old way, just clicking "My" et voila.
I remember Huss posting years back that less than 1% of traffic entered big soccer via "my" or usercp as it was called back in the day
Which is why we didn't need the poll. In the meantime, just fix the damn thing. Make it exactly like it used to be before the upgrade broke it: a page that shows ALL subscriptions, both forums and threads. Grumpy doesn't even cover it.
Maybe you're right. Or maybe the poll should've been: Would you like "My" to be put back the way it used to be? (as you just described) or do you not care and never would use "My" anyway. I only did the poll because of the endless back and forth about whether Watch Threads or Watch Forums is more widely used, more needed. I thought it'd be interesting to see how a vote came out, and more importantly give the admins/developers some guidance on how to "fix the damn thing". But in the end I came to realize that the best, most popular, best compromise, is to put "My" back the way it was before it got broke... a single screen with both Threads & Forums. Sadly the silence from the mods on this is deafening.
The site is still a stinking pile since the "upgrade." I know I sound like a broken record, but I am so glad I stopped paying for this site.
