    FAQ

Please see the FIFA & Tournaments Board FAQ.

    Spam

By its nature, this forum attracts more than its fair share of advertising spam. Please report spam using the report post button ([IMG]) so the mods can deal with it ASAP.

Please note that whilst there are many 'informational' threads regarding travel, accommodation, etc. in this forum, posts designed purely to advertise will be removed at the moderators' discretion.

    Ticketing Threads

Given the nature of this forum, there will be multiple threads about ticketing.

The ticket swap threads on this forum are for established BigSoccer posters only. That means you must have some kind of history of contributing to regular (non-ticket) discussions. If you've registered and immediately start posting in ticket threads it will be assumed you are a scalper/tout.

The following rules apply to ticket threads:

    • 1-for-1 swaps only
    • No cash sales, and no 'administration charges' or other costs
    • No advertising to buy tickets
    • No linking to scalping sites (even if you're not affiliated and are just trying to help out another poster)
Please report all posts and posters not meeting these criteria.

If scalpers approach you via PM (or someone appearing to be a legitimate swapper on the forum turns out to be a scalper after a PM/email exchange) please report it to one of the FIFA mods.

Scalping or advertising scalping sites may result in an immediate ban from BigSoccer.

    Eye Candy

This forum is often a source of posts such as "Girls of the World Cup", player beefcake threads, and photographs of fans.

Please note, ALL posts in these threads must be PG rated. We will be enforcing this standard strictly and posts that don't conform will be removed and infracted.

    Spoilers

Even though this forum does not deal directly with the results of games, spoilers are still a risk.

A spoiler is something that reveals the result of a match without fair warning. All thread titles should be neutral and if a result is stated or implied within the content of a thread then the title must also include an [R]. (For a detailed explanation of spoilers click this link.) Posting spoilers during the World Cup may result in your posting privileges being restricted.

If you don't know what trolling and flaming are then please read the FAQ. Even if you are a longtime member of BigSoccer it bears refreshing.

Please do not respond to a troll or a flame and never quote inflammatory posts as this only perpetuates the problem.

Instead you should always report trolling and flaming. By reporting posts (and posters) you ensure the mods see problems in a timely manner.

You can report a post by clicking the "[IMG]" button next to the offending post. Just say a word or two about what's wrong with the post (or poster) and send the report. The mods will deal with it ASAP.

Also, as some of you know, if you troll or flame once too many times you will be banned from the WC2010 forums. What's once too many? It's one time more after you've already been warned by private message. (If you don't check your private messages regularly that's your problem.)

Got questions? Please feel free to ask in this thread.

    Happy posting!

    USA-Specific Fans & Travel Posts

Due to the large contingent of USA fans on BigSoccer (including the official discussion forums for several supporter groups), there is also a USA Men: World Cup Fans and Travel subforum.

If you are looking for information about USA-specific topics (for example, purchasing tickets through USSF) you may get more responses and useful feedback by posting your query in that forum.
