In unrelated news, employers in the Middle East and India have discovered a 630% increase in productivity among their workers in the last few days.

Honestly can't speak for losing any internet service in Dubai. (Crosses fingers any bad karma doesn't move in my direction.)

A third undersea cable was also cut a few days later. They guess it was probably ship anchors, but it's an interesting coincidence that you would get three breaks like this in a week.

Didn't they have a similar problem that affected east Asia about a year ago? IIRC, it involved some cable near Taiwan. Did they figure out the cause of the problem?

I can't see why. All the big terrorist groups are highly dependent on the internet for recruiting, communication, propaganda, and conducting actions.

Well...there is quite a bit of anti-internet islamic preaching, probably because of pornography. I wouldn't be surprised...and it wouldn't need to be a big group...just an informed one.

The FBI is distributing this rendition of the main terrorist suspect. Mahmoud Al-Nemo. Nemo is described as the #2 man in Al-Queda, but then again, aren't they all.
