Why are people so up in arms about Arteta not being selected? 1) Less wear and tear on our one true playmaker in midfield. B) Luis Aragones won't get his grubby mitts on him. Tres) Less international exposure, meaning less people trying to buy him. I have nothing but love for Arteta, and I'm country before club all the way, but I fail to see how his not being called up is anything but a positive for Everton.
I don't like it because it will make Arteta feel as though he has to play for a 'bigger' club or go back to Spain to play. It appears that he's already getting feelers from Real Zaragroza (sp?). I'd rather Mikel be happy with a spot on the national team so he doesn't move to Spain to achieve one of his dreams.
