Group B (USA) gets as final team: Wales/Scotland/Ukraine. It is who we will play first on November 20 (If I recall right). Not bad at all.
Canada is in Group F with Belgium Croatia Morocco Tough tough draw. Belgium and Croatia to advance ...
Saudi Arabia added to Mexico's group. They can advance from that group Argentina Poland Mexico Poland
Group of Death? Spain, Germany, Japan, Costa Rica (assuming the beat NZ) also Argentina, Mexico, Poland, Saudi Arabia.
What kind of graph chart does our club have on attendance when out first season downtown in 2012 to Canetti's last season in 2018. Talk about a complete downhill slope on said graph.
One of the most well balanced draws I can recall. Reminds me of USA1994 with Germany and Spain in the same Group. South Korea and Saudi Arabia in the mix as well back in '94. The intercontinental playoffs will add some spice to all this as Peru might get in and so can Costa Rica so that is two more nations from our side of the planet that can represent. And boy howdy! It is one thing for an old colony nation to play their former masters like for us in the United States to play England or Senegal vs. France in 2002, but imagine if England and Scotland get to lock horns at the World Cup this year!!! First and foremost, this is the original international rivalry from back in 1872 iirc. And top that off with the very real historical and political ties the two nations share and it could be game on in our group. And to make no mention that if Ukraine gets in past both Scotland and then Wales, pretty sure the entire planet would have them as their plucky, underdog for the tournament. Just great news if their nation can advance!
I'll never forget attending the Germany v South Korea match at the Cotton Bowl. Was my first experience with international soccer and the festive fans. It was a pretty cool experience with lots of goals (Germany won 3-2).
Schedule is out. For the USA 1st (playoff team) and 3rd (Iran) are in Doha. 2d game (England) is 30 minutes outside of Doha at Al Bayt stadium, up the coast. Both of the Doha games are on the Metro line. England game will take a long bus ride. I should be able to go to a morning game each day -- then easily get to the US game. All USA games are the last of the day -- starting 10pm Doha time. That will be 2pm Central Standard Time. Since we should be on Daylight savings time by then then 1pm. That is IF I have done those simple calculations correctly which is highly suspect. For the first time they are playing 4 games a day during group stage -- rather than the past practice of 3 games a day. First match of the day will be 1pm Doha time. So that is 4am in Houston (again, if I'm calculating right.) Interesting .. this year matches are not played in order ... because they are being scheduled for TV market maximization. So game 1 (QAT v ECU) will be the third game of the first day of games. The first game to be played will be Game 2 (SEN v NED). Another example is Day 2: Here is the match order. #8 at 1pm, #6 at 4pm, #7 (Mex v Pol) at 7pm, and #5 at 10pm. All eight stadia will host a group stage game every other day. This is exactly what I was predicting when Qatar was announced. The greatest soccer tournament EVER for fans attending. I may never recover from this event. ... financially or otherwise.
So far, it looks like four legs (on United) Aus-Hou, Hou - Frankfurt, Frankfurt - Cairo, Cairo to Doha (on Egypt Air). including lay overs we are talking 30+ hours.

Your telling me that the US could be in a three-team group with Jamaica and Martinique?? At least one caribbean team guaranteed? Maybe Jamaica as well?
Yes, for Jamaica and Martinique. Suriname is not technically a Caribbean team but often get lumped in with them. So that one depends on how you look at it.
The country is technically in South America, but is for all intents and purposes (language, culture, population, governance, history, etc) Caribbean, hence the association. They really don't have anything in common with other South American nations, but are kin to places like Curacao, Aruba, etc. Same goes for Guyana (whose people have culture, mannerisms and a history so similar to Trinidadians that it's considered a common insult to label them Trinis - don't ever do that if you meet one, unless you know them very well and are just trying to rile them up).
Well, CNL draw put the USA in with El Salvador and Grenada. Grenada has never impressed me as a garden vacation spot. I think that draw saved me some money.

I made a mistake in this post. The next to last sentence should be: In League A, World Cup bound teams will only play 2 games in the June FIFA window. Others will play 4. League B will play four games. League C will play up to 4 games.
