they are starting a new team...they have this magic technology where they can create a robot ai goalie and they can input his skill levels but he only has some my pts overall left they have 15 pts left and two skills on a 1-10 scale they are shot stopping passing how would you distribute those points???
his original thought ur reply to his comment where he says shot stopping is the first thing you look for in a goalkeeper and everything else comes after that that you disagree with that and it would be 'really hard to find a gk coach who agrees' lol. ur next post...I mean come on, you say I don't read ur posts I don't think you read ur posts. His entire post was about the importance of shot stopping and it being the #1 things teams look for. you are actually saying that you didn't comment on shot stopping by saying that isn't the process lol. you are literally commenting on it because it was the point of his entire post. you then settle on insults like it makes you look smarter. on top of that you refuse to tell us what that process is since you seem to know it so well. you then going to a 'it depends on the team' lol. you lie, then you use insults and then lastly you refuse to answer simple discussion you started lol. This is why this place is so down people like you chase people away.
You still haven't given the information needed. I think that is a horrible question. Not sure why anyone would approach this situation like that.
With our defense, shot stopping. All of them. And the coach has to learn not to try to get them off the back passing.
I have never heard anyone who deals with goalkeepers talk like this. Correct! I dont recall saying how important I think shot stopping is. I have only said that I disagree with statements that can imply nothing else matters. Whatever!!! It isnt my fault you can't answer a simple question.
never in his post did he say nothing else matters...him like I said shot stopping is the first thing that comes up with evaluating a goalkeeper you replied to that saying he would be hard pressed to find a gk coach who agrees with that we just want to know what are ur priorities when looking at a gk?? stop being so childish and answer the simple question. I've been very clear 1)stop stopping is the number one priority for a gk 2)I don't care if a gk is the best keeper in the history of the game with his feet if he can't stop shots...HE CAN'T PLAY THE POSITION
I guess I might have overstated his view. Of course, I didn't say what you are suggesting. I think you have a serious reading comprehension issue or this discussion is too complicated for you. Correct. Never heard a goalkeeper coach say that. I like complete players so the list would likely be overwhelming to you. The job of a goalkeeper is significantly more complicated than the way you guys are discussing it. I would look at all the characteristics and pick the mix that I think would be the most effective for my team and how we plan on playing. Since you won't answer a simple question, I will say that I think has got the right guy for Man City and I dont think he is the best goalkeeper in the world and isn't a top shot stopper. Agreed, you have been clear that you have a very naive view of goalkeeping and soccer in general.
I love that Hal’s ur posts is insults it’s a really easy question you don’t have to get all upset. You said something that didn’t make any sense and we called you on it. You can dodge it all you want but shot stopping is the first thing that the coaches look for. I love that ur example is pep at man city a team that has spent liver 1.6 billion in 8 years to put that team together and can’t figure out why the us has guys like turner, Robinson, scaly, McKenzie out there and just don’t replace them with guys who play like pep guys lol.
I'm not dodging it, I'm just not discussing at the immature level you would like. Your argument is an absolute. All that is needed is single example to refute it. Given that the best coach in the world approaches the situation very differently, it probably wouldn't be hard to find others. Why are you talking about field players?
ur either unwilling or unable to answer the question about which a discussion you started lol. you should either grow up or move on. either is fine
Are you bailing out because your opinion has been proved wrong? I dont think you know what you are talking about, you are claiming your overly extreme opinion is right and mocking the idea that it isnt, doesn't really create a discussion I am going to want to jump into. Out if curiosity, is there one trait that is most important for a defender, midfielder, forward, etc? Do you play this same silly game with other positions too? Goalkeeping is at least as complex as the rest of the game. If we used the 4 areas framework of technical, tactical, physical, and mental, all four areas are incredibly important for goalkeepers. A coach doesn't go out looking for the best shot stopper. They also don't go looking for the "best" GK.
im bailing because waiting for you to answer the question is getting old, you are being way to immature about something that is supposed to be fun. ur so desperate now to avoid the question about keepers ur now asking about the 'one trait' that is important to every other position lol. although maybe thats ur answer...you don't want the 'best' at any position. I think that you would find it tough to find a coach who doesn't want the best player they can get at every position but then again ur the greatest mind of our generation so maybe im wrong.
hopefully people can knock down the usmnt 1-1 "victory" vs brazil a few notches on their glory meters seeing how they played vs costa rica this isnt the typical brazil team that draw wasnt an accomplishment
Friendlies are never accomplishments, despite people still celebrating the glorious victories over Germany and the Netherlands that happened a month before an embarrassing Gold Cup loss.
That is silly. Why do you guys think you get to decide what an accomplishment is? Every time the team gets together is important and progress in each window is an accomplishment even if it involves a friendly. If you want games that don't matter, you have MLS for that.
All fans have the right to prioritize what they want. I’ll watch a USMNT friendly over most alternatives because I like the team, but it’s still a glorified training session. Nice totally off topic MLS digression, I don’t know why you don’t post in the MLS forum given your obsession with the league.
Just like the confed cup that you guys act like really meant something. Friendly results aren't that big of a deal but still part of the process and at this point, one of the only way we get to play anybody outside shitty concacaf.
Considering the way the game was played and it was the first non loss to Brazil in 20+ years I think it was definitely seen as a high end result.
I’ve never made that much of the Confed Cup aside from the Spain result. That was a nice individual win, but not some program defining moment. Once again your generalization is off the mark.
Costa Rica is a team that can play annoying defense. They're a worse match-up in serious tournaments, for us, than Mexico.
vinicius has 3 goals in 30 (!) matches for Brazil..... these guys are all living off the legends of their country, imo (and yeah....its cool that the USMNT didnt lose....but.....its not some kind of accomplishment, imo.........but you;re probably right.....inside the team...they were probably happy with that result)
