Rotating Balo and Pepi seems reasonable. Wasting more time on Ream continues to be weird to me. Musah for Johnny? That one could really backfire. So we aren't going to use our one Brazilian-American against Brazil after being one of the few bright spots against Colombia?

CCV sits. In form. Berhalter loves his comfort blankets to a fault.

So who's going to be winning balls in the midfield? I would've benched McKennie and started Johnny.

its a tough sell to start ccv after what he did against Col especially since he looked like he wanted to be anywhere else the last 15 min.

I don’t like the Ream selection, but I don’t mind giving him a half, to see if he can redeem himself (because it’s a friendly).

I get that. Are we starting to see the real team 'unity' under Berhalter or was he just pissed he had to sit and watch Ream for 70 minutes only to get called in when it's too late?

I hate to sound pessimistic, hope to be wrong, but I’m guessing this is going to be 6-0 Brazil. Maybe, 3-0 if Brazil slacks off.

These ********ing idiot “analysts” we aren’t missing Dest’s adventures or marauding runs. We are missing his basic ficking ability to get us out of our own half.

No tougher than Ream who also has that whole runs like Tom Brady thing going on.

After Johnny was substituted, we gave up two goals in a span of 5 minutes. Let's see how we do without him.

It gets even harder when the message from the coach is that this tournament is prepping for the WC. If that were actually true, why pick an average defender who will continue to decline over the next 2 years.

Lack of rotation is weird. Johnny was good, but if Musah is at his best, he is one of the very few players that has the press resistance to help alleviate the problem of not having Dest.

Rotating Johnny is fine imo. But doing so and Tyler doesn’t get the start instead means Tyler is wasting a spot which should’ve gone to someone who can actually play.

No argument here, he shoulda been relegated to last guy on the roster and assistant coach immediately after the WC. The lack of any other developed CB pairing at this point is mind boggling.

He would have been one of the last guys I rotated. Have we played much Musah at the 6 or he and Mckennie as the two deepest midfielders? If it isnt Adams replacing him, I just Johnny is more suited to be the 6, especially against Brazil

That is a disease American coaches have had for a long time.

I watched a little bit of that Confederations Cup final today when I was bored.

Man my memory of that game was The US holding on for dear life in that 2nd half and Brazil just finally breaking through. Obviously Brazil was on the front foot, but man we had some concrete chances in that 2nd half to get a 3rd that we were a bit wasteful with

Wasn’t much worse than the starters at all. Colombia went into cruise control up two nil and US soccer made hay out of that pretending we were fine if you just remove the first 25 and last 35 lol

Berhalter and a small group of fans made him into a lot more than he was as a player. It is tim ream.
