Anyone else care to help me make a master list of how MLS teams have done this year against non-MLS competition? This way, we can get an overall record and brag to our stupid friends who say the MLS sucks.

    Colorado:

    2-0 W vs. Santos Laguna
    0-0 T vs. Atlas

    Los Angeles

    5-0 W vs. Lyn Oslo
    3-0 W vs. Torpedo Moscow

    etc...

anyone remember any others? Boca vs. Metros coming up? New England and Kansas City's preseason tours? San Jose in La Manga?

I can't tell if you are being serious or not, but international friendlies are no indication of MLS's strength/weakness. Hey, the MetroStars beat Bayern Munich. It was a good win, but by no means is it a reason to brag to people about the strength of MLS.

    It was both.

I'm interested in how the MLS measures up or has measured up in this season's pre-season. I realize that is no cursor for league quality, or at least a definitive cursor.

But still, did you hear the Rapids beat Santos Laguna 2-0?

    Also, CONCACAF Champions Cup

Columbus: 2-1 L vs. Deportivo Arabe Unido

Los Angeles: 2-2 T vs. Motagua

San Jose: 4-2 L vs. CSD Municipal

    Thanks, Elninho for your info,

    Anyone else know some stuff?

I believe the Rapids just played Chivas to a 0-0 draw in Mexico today.

Oh yes, I forgot Shanghai Shenhua's tour of the West Coast.

The Galaxy also defeated Shanghai Shenhua by a 3-0 score, in a 105-minute closed-door scrimmage.

    Rapids tied Atlas today.

They're slated to play Chivas later this week.

My bad, Burn beat Universidad de Chile 5-1, not Catolica.

They also beat Audax Italiano 4-3.

I wouldn't call the Rapids lineup the first team, either. However, Chivas played mostly their first team.

    Exactly.
Most famous international teams won't play their "A" squad when they play an MLS team.
Bayern-Munich at Giants stadium was the worst example of this. They played a couple of their normal starters, but they were blatantly not interested in playing an MLS team. Rumor has it that they were all drunk when they got off the plane.

Also, did Inter play starters when they played the Metros last season?

    I have the match report.

Oswaldo Sanchez played in keeper, Manuel Sol scored the first goal for Chivas and Alberto Medina scored the winner on a free kick.

Sounds like the starters to me...
