Basically a few UEFA national teams have organised themselves to create a u-23 League to bridge the gap between the u-19 Euros and senior football. This is what the English FA mentioned earlier this year.
This is a brilliant idea. I’ve waited a long time for the U23 team to have a meaningful competition schedule. Earlier they just played the odd friendly with nothing at stake. As professionalism in woso improves, the gap between the U20s and the senior national team is becoming very big and it grows every year. The U23 league should fill a vital role in preparing players for the big stage.
I think those nations are doing a test run to show UEFA that they should create a u-21/u-23 women competition like the men already have...
Spain u-23 1 France u-23 2 France climb to third place in the table, Spain stays in second place, three more games later today: England Belgium Sweden Italy Netherlands Portugal

I spoke to MLS Commish Don Garber last year about MLS’ potential intention to start a women’s league. Back then, he didn’t know what that would look like & according to my sources, the league still has no solid plans to involve itself in the women’s game. It’s bad info, folks. pic.twitter.com/aGY15t0J9x— Pablo Iglesias Maurer (@MLSist) August 12, 2024

Isn't that where Cat Macario went for her rehab? And then subsequently had several setbacks that kept her out for more than a year and a half and arguably still not back to full health?
