Hmm, yeah I guess it could seem like that (especially if Meazza's placement could indicate playing narrower than Riva's - I'm not totally sure it's intentional though). The basic shape does seem kind of Metodo-esque still to me though (2-3-2-3), with Picchi placed at centre half, and Biavati as inside right (probably he played there quite a bit for Bologna I guess), and Meazza as a forward (right wing forward, or second striker potentially?).
