To be honest, yes, and there is nothing Kumbaya about it. There is no mandate in Seattle that Portland must be despised, and so as someone who honestly considered the Timbers to be their 2nd favorite team, it was amusing to realize that Seattle Animus was in fact viewed as a defacto requirement for Timbers Fandom. I had been away from Oregon that long, I guess. That observation about the TA is still true, I believe (hence my first response here to the OP was really only half in jest), and of course my observation about the ECS as well, which is that from an animousity standpoint you guys are really not at the top of the list. I know many more anti-Chicago Seattle fans than anti-Portland. And that predates the Ljundberg move. Although it may date to last years home game . Mostly Seattle fans tend to hate "whoever beat us last". You may be correct as to my first post on SCUSA though. If so, though, it was obviously about a Seattle game that had little to do with Portland, aside from being Wicks former team. And whatever opinions I had of Wicks, I probably still do. And if you want to get all kumbaya, I will say that I still view my "views" as much like those of Prost, to who's posts you yourself have responded to without venom. I just can't write for shit. Shall we hold hands and sway back and forth now?
lol. I think I'm sticking with portland. I guess I'll wait and see what the team looks like next year. I watched the U-23 championships. Can Portland sign players directly from the team or do they have to go through the MLS draft if they're American? That Brent Richards kid is quality.
