Credit to Alyson/from TA. If you've been looking waiting on the details of the match day busses that FIFA has been alluding to for months: tiny.cc/h5kxc "Services will be provided between Johannesburg, Pretoria, OR Tambo International Airport, and Rustenburg, Polokwane, Nelspruit and Bloemfontein. Coastal services will also be offered, between Cape Town and Garden Route towns and between Durban and KwaZulu-Natal destinations." "...a return ticket from Johannesburg to Rustenburg would cost R240. Ticket prices range from R140 to R300 for a one-way trip. She encouraged fans to use the bus service as the buses had dedicated parking close to the stadiums while those using their own cars might have to walk up to 2km to get to the stadium. Fans would be able to buy bus tickets from Strictly Tickets, Computicket, Translux and Checkers, she said, from this Friday." It seems that strictly tickets link is active. http://www.strictlytickets.com/ http://www.computicket.com/web/ I think it's a good option. Let us know when they begin to sell the intercity match day bus tix.
I booked all my intercity busses on June 22, for Mexico/France match & others . Johanessburg/Rustemburg RT for $R240 Easy to use web site. http://www.strictlytickets.com/
They dont give any information on the bus station location. For e.g. Where in Joburg do these buses depart from ?
When you print-out your tickets, it tells you where are the different bus stops are. Johannesburg - Westgate/Anderson Street (MDS and NMS) Sandton - CBD Polokwane - cnr Bodenstein Street and General Joubert Nelspruit - Cnr Bester and Currie Street Bloemfontein - Jock Meiring Street (MDS) Bloemfontein Tourism centre Park and Betoger Avenue (NMS) Cape Town - Old Marina Drive - New Long distancebus terminus (NMS) Cape Town Table Bay Blvd, (MDS) Port Elizabeth - Nelson Mandela Kings beach intercity transport hub Rustenburg - Royal Bafokeng Stadium Rustenburg - Watervaal shopping Centre (NMS) Pietermaritzburg - cnr New England and King Edward East London - cnr Frere Road and Devereux
My Greyhound tickets say " Departure Point: Greyhound Office, Ring Road Greenacres (Opposite Checkers) Arrival Point: Greyhound Office, 1 Adderley Street"
are these printable or do I have to pick them up when I get there? Sounds like a good transport to check out polokwane and nelspruit stadiums, maybe even bloemfontein
Yes, they are printable. Better than computicket because you don't have to stop to get them at checkers, etc, etc.... I think they can send you a SMS to your cell too for $R1.00.
So the situation is that FIFA is offering free intercity trains for ticket holders, but you have to pay for the buses?
Yes, you'd pay by credit card. Although, it does look like they'll accept a bank transfer. Once you put your tickets into your cart, you can see the other payment options!
Yes, there is one at Westgate in the CBD which allows you to choose between Bus and train. I recommend it.
So I should be able to buy those when I get to J'burg or should I purchase them before? If so, where do I buy them since they're not listed on the computickets game day bus site.
Thttp://transport.strictlytickets.com/StrictlyTicketshis is the site for extrictly tickets: http://transport.strictlytickets.com/StrictlyTickets
StrictlyTickets have them now (or at least i just noticed it) it goes from Westgate Terminus or OR Tambo to Pretoria Town Hall, it says you can then board the park and ride to the stadium. R100 one way.
It appears they're sold out, as well as all match day buses from j'burg. Any idea if you can get these tickets someplace else? I can't find anything on computicket.
Sorry if I'm missing the point here, but you know that the Metrorail services from various parts of Joburg to Loftus will be free to match ticket holders, and they are laying on extra trains?
The best way to go if the Metrorail delivers - stations are at the stadia only get your name now - thought it meant some hawaiian love god now I realise you are going with Nigel Powers....
You talkin' about me?? If so, you were close first time ;-) it's a volcano in the Canary Islands. But all the associated touristy stuff is very 60s, is that what you've spotted?
