Extremely important, we can't loose the lead to milan, (in case they win).

Why do I get the feeling we'll be saying that all year long?

we already have lost the ead. Milan have a any points as us but a higher gd. How are they so ood in the CL and Serie ? They are the best team in both! I have confidence we'll take one from them retnicf, while they are busy in a CL semi or someting-they'll loe, we'll win. They still haven't played Juve either....who just to our luck have goten into a slump......right after we played them. Ah, Inter's luck. Butwe'll win Lo Scudetto, at last.

I think their slump is because of us ;), after we drawed in the last sec. and they were protesting on the goal.

Optimist: We are top of the table in Serie A despite not even playing well. Imagine what we can do when we start to gel.

Pessimist: We've gotten lucky so far, and it's only a matter of time till it catches up to us and we drop a few games.

just wait and see until the team starts rolling, we are still improving in every game, remember we still have C.Z. injured and kallon, who will make a terrifying striking partner with either vieri or crespo.

BTW, I think we're getting solari, :) cuper will get what he wants, and with solari I think we will rule

How are you SueB? Juventus just lost to ewcastle, didn't they. They are 4 points behind the front. Oh, and didn't reggina just lose their last game? Oh, that put them in the relegation zone, didn't it?

Actually, you are right, Reggina did lose today, but they did enough to advance in the Coppa anyway - to face Juve! That ought to be fun. Reggina runs in a completely different circle than teams like Juve, Milan and Inter, so I don't care if you try to insult me regarding them. I'm just happy they're in Serie A AND I got to see them come from behind to advance by away goals today.

As for Juve, you don't quite get it - Juve fans don't really have to think in terms of one game at a time, but one championship at a time.

I've followed Serie A for 8 years now. During that time, Juventus has won, I think, 3 Scudetti (plus or minus one - I've lost track) and a European Championship. Inter won the UEFA Cup, I do remember that, because it was such a rare occasion. Of course, they beat fellow underachievers Lazio to do so. Then again, I never expected to see Lazio win the Scudetto - their second EVER - so there is always hope for you guys. :D

SueB, I summarized your post :)

    We've won three UEFA cups 97/98, 93/94, 90/91.

I really don't mind the chiding we get from the other fans of Serie A. Our day will come, and when it does it will be sweet vindication. I'm patient.

Besides how much of a challenge is it to be a Juve fan? Kinda like cheering for Microsoft versus Netscape, the Yankees versus the Toledo Mud Hens, or Blockbuster versus the mom and pop video store. Not even the most popular team in their own city. hehe

    Good one.

Well, I was only talking about the 8 years that I've followed Serie A. Juve's won 3 UEFA Cups too. And a few more championships that I didn't mention (it was 4, by the way, in those 8 years).

Are you equating Inter with the Toledo Mud Hens then? :D

Actually, it does go against my nature to be for a club that is so successful. I like underdogs. I was terribly naive about calcio when I met my husband -one of our early "dates" was watching Juve play the US National Team in New Haven, CT - 1991 or 1992? Excrucatingly dull affair. I guess Baggio played that day, but I didn't even know him. The only player I really remember was Julio Cesar. Juventus was strolling around. It finished 0-0. Nice day though. At least going to that game got me on a mailing list for early WC94 tickets.

Anyway, my point is - and sorry from diverging from the topic of Bologna - I had no idea! I knew Milan was very successful at that time, but I didn't know Juve's incredible history. Once I realized, I chided him for getting me to become a fan of "the Dallas Cowboys of Italy". But by then, it was too late.

So, how long have you guys been Inter fans? And how did it come about?

I became an Inter fan on Nov. 22, 1997.

That was when my good friend brought me to Italy to witness firsthand the Inter-Milan derby. He's been an Inter supporter since birth and we sat in la curva nord. I was hooked. Been black 'n blue ever since. By the way here's a picture of me on the right,my friend Bruno on the left, and Inter legend Mario Corso in the middle

Prior to that I was just a general Serie A fan with no real affiliation for one club, save Napoli, who my grandfather supported.

SueB, I had assumed you were a Red Sox fan and therefore had that aversion to "Yankee" like dynasty teams. :) Of course if Inter ever start a dynasty, I'm not complaining :).

Back on topic, though, it seems Gigi DiBiagio has been suspended for two games after video evidence that he kicked Davids (I think). I'm dissapointed in Gigi.

    2-0 Inter
Great Job. Materazzi and Vieri scored. Now it is vital to beat Rosenborg. We are on the top lets stay here.

Inter play a direct attacking style, they have absolutely no build up. How can you hope to go far in Europe when you can barely string 5 passes together. Its all hoof it up to Vieri or Crespo, and that can be enough in Serie A but never in Europe. Get a clue Cuper, you play the worst brand of soccer known to man. You're the stereotypical English side for petes sake.

Seriously though, I think Cuper needs to reorganize his strategy and troops!

The important thing is that inter are winning and are on top of seria a, and who the hell cares about europe, we want the scudetto for god sakes...

we have the winning mentallity and that's the important thing, as for the style of play, the team is still improving, dalmat is not in form on the other hand sergio is getting his little by little and emre is just making his debuts, as for C.Z. and kallon they will be a huge boost for the team, and recoba wasn't available against bologna...

You all saw what happened to Milan against chievo, after tremendous displays, they got beaten because of tierdness, as for us, we are still winning.

just wait and see inter when the team gels and start playing well...
If we're playin ************ and winning what will we do if we play well ;)

You won't start "playing well", if you try and hoof the ball in the box everytime you get it. The way Inter play they're much more likely to go through a long dip in form and drop points than any of the other big teams. Winning at the expense of playing well is the old mentality, and you're outdated.

You know we're doing something right when everyone else comes over to tell us how we're really not playing well, we're boring, etc, etc.

Did we play well on Sunday? No. Did the ref miss the offsides call on the second goal? Yes.

But you know what? Here are the standings:
    Inter 16
    Milan 13
    Juve 12
    Lazio 11
    Bologna 11
    etc, etc.

    Really, that's all that matters.

I'm actually quite happy that we've been able to take 16 out of 18 possible points despite the injuries we've had. I'll just have to accept the fact that Milan and Juve fans will bitch and complain all year when they aren't in first place.

A lot of you are dumb.
Mario: Why should Cuper change things? We are on top of the serie a, and we'd qualify in Europe.

Spartak: What te hell i was not friggin offsides!!!!! gO TO WWW.INTER.IT/ and watch the goal video. It proves that when the bll was played Vieri was onside!

Yes, Vieri was onsides with his header that scored. But that is not where the offsides was. It was the ball played to Crespo who was clearly a yard offsides when the ball was played to him. Vieri was also offsides on that play. What is your excuse for the clear foul in the box on Zaccardo?

Juve fans don't care about the standings during the season, we look at the standings when it's all over. We only care about things like this

    Juve 71
    Roma 70
    Inter 69

Not to mention the fact that Inter has been VERY fortunate when it comes to favorable calls this year. It will all end soon enough.

As for Europe, why do you think Inter isn't doing as well as they are in Serie A? One word, refs.

I predict Inter will fall short yet again and loose the Scudetto to either Juve or Milan.

In Europe I predict Inter will make it to the Semi's..... of the UEFA Cup!

Please, I couldn't care less what place you're in in the, what, 7th round? I'm pissed because Inter are representing Italian football in the Champions League and they're making the same dumb mistakes from the past. You can't play donkeys in the midfield and expect them to be thoroughbreds. The football Cuper encourages won't get you into the quarterfinals of the Champions League and you're an embarrassment when you can barely beat Ajax at home and only get one point vs Lyon over two legs. You have to get players in the midfield who can possess and move the ball effectively, not just kick people and destroy. Christian Zanetti will NOT help you in that deparment.

In Serie A, don't worry, in the end the cream of the crop will rise and the turds will sink. And what looks like a turd, smells like a turd, and plays like a turd is shit in my book.

Wow, I sense a lot of pent up anger around here. Easy, boys, long way to go. :)

If recent history means anything then yes, Inter will choke in the end. But that's why they play the games, no? I support my team, and I'm happy to have 16 of 18 points. I wish they were playing better, especcially in Europe. And I wish we could field a healthy squad for once.

If everyone around here is so convinced we're about to collapse why is everyone so worked up about it? Relax and enjoy the football.
