    Inter confirm Giggs bid

Inter director Lele Oriali has confirmed they will make a bid for Ryan Giggs, Danny Van der Meyde and Chievo winger Luciano.

“Giggs is one of those players with very special characteristics,” explained the technical director. “He is a rare talent who can make the difference.”

We don't need the money. We need Ryan Giggs.

Lord tell me this isn't true?! I kow Inter want him, but AF can't really think of selling him, can he? I mean, I know business is business, but there does come a point where some players are untouchable (In some regards I guess). If United were really stinking it up this season, then maybe I could see it, but they're right near the top and looking good so I pray that the transfer window closes and Giggsy remains on the left side for us...as for others, well, maybe we can let a couple go, but for all that is holy, NOT RYAN!!

    Cheers...

    from the Italian press

Giggs will arrive, but in June

Ryan Giggs yes, but for the next season. The Inter of Massimo Moratti does not want to rush things and point to a spring arrivial for the Manchester United winger. They don't want to upset the balance that has carried the team to the summit of the Italian league and Champions League, nor risk sacrificing their good relationship with Manchester United. The society will accept the 10 million from Real Madrid instead of Solari and it will reinvest it the next summer.

Moratti seems decided to confirm the line that for a long time now he has expressed publicly, that is "no reinforcements in January". Not even Solari should arrive. The player, the transfer of which was previewed from the previous summer in the transaction that carried Ronaldo to Real, has always been in doubt, above all in consideration of the optimal performances of the team and, above all, of Domenico Morfeo on right flank.

Other than pointing at Giggs, Inter will try to bring Van der Meyde, 23 year-old right winger of Ajax that would allow Inter to make itself secure on the right side next year. This for that which regards the future. The present could reserve some surprises for the fans in the within of some exchanges at par. Conceiçao could go to Barcelona in exchange for Overmars, while Luciano could arrive on loan until June.

I agree, but Duff is younger and if we get him it might be better. Oh I don't know. I think we should stick with Giggs.

    Giggs leaving.....yawn!!!!!!!

I dont believe that Giggs will be leaving OT. Only Sir Alex can get rid of Giggs, which is extremely, extremely, extremely (enough extremelys?) unlikely.

Italian clubs are short of cash at the mo, so where is the dosh coming from? Cash plus player? Its not April the 1st yet, but I expect its an Italian wind up.

I agree. I don't see the move happening. ManU is bigger than Inter. They're better run as a business. And Giggs is still playing well + a key member of the club. Unless the guy is demanding wages that they can't or aren't willing to meet, I don't see why Alex would let him leave.
