We need a confirmation on what type of bird that is. I keep seeing it reported differently from one article to another. Edit: Looking at the beak, that is definitely NOT a flamingo in the logo. Heron it is. Somebody needs to alert the team, so they stop showing flamingos in photos of the team. LOL
Um, it says repeatedly on the MLS Miami page, and as EPjr above shared photos of as them being Herons.

Love the crest, hate the name, Love the nickname “herons”, I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing those colors, however they’re very Miami, congratulations Miami. From an Atlanta fan, I’m rooting for Miami to be a success and believe that Miami can be a flagship franchise in this league. Hopefully y’all get everything planned out soon and hurry up and start.
My eyes aren't too good. I didn't notice the small type next to the picture identified it. I was going off of the differences in the logo picture and the picture below that with Beckham and the flamingo.
Pink isnt my color either, but even Elvis wore pink and Black at times lol. And apparently many men around the world have no issue with Pink. I hate the Airport sounding name. I will always refer to them as the Miami Herons.
Yeah, nothing wrong with pink. You can rock the hell out of it with the right compliment. And for a sports team, nothing wrong with standing out. Hell, that's the whole point.
Specially considering the boring colors most teams in MLS have. Actually In many pro sports. Blue and red dominate. Pink is fresh and I will never understand why some guys are so afraid of it.
I also would like to think that the people running the show somehow were influenced by many of the discussions and ideas that were put out in this forum over the years. To some degree it feels like they listened. Maybe that’s wishful thinking. Anyway I’m excited about the whole thing. The colors, crest and yes even the name. That was my first choice since the beginning and being that I’m an actual Inter Milan fan this fits well. The Florida Derby between us and orlando will be fun. It’ll be a sea of purple and pink which makes it unique in MLS and it reminds me watching Seria A whenever Fiorentina faced Palermo. Look up on YouTube and you’ll get a better idea with these team colors going at it. Becks and company have done a great job thus far. The way how they blitz the news early in the morning through all forms of media like the Miami Herald with a full pink first page and even going so far as painting murals in Brickell and Wynwood made a huge statement! Social media accounts are also through the roof with followers.
