When we buy these new players for a lot of money and wages and then ,off coarse, they get injured, does west ham have some kind of insurance to cover the cost or is it just bad luck and you have to pay?

From my humble and very limited knowledge I understand that they have insurance for each player but I expect it is very conditional, i.e. perhaps the insurance company state that they will only pay up if our player was in no way at fault. How they prove this in most cases is anyone's guess.

But in Dyer's case it should be pretty clear cut. Some people in the past have claimed that it's the insurers that are ruining the game by encouraging players not to go into the tackle too hard.

Would that be third party influence then Chris?

Not that we're sensitive to this kind of thing:p

We do have insurance. It normally starts after 2 or 3 weeks off. All clubs carry it. It pays their wages and medical bills, which is why they always get the best. The insurance companies want them back playing asap.
