Their owners are just as cheap as Jay Sugarman... stadium location clearly isn’t everything, the spend and player caliber/marquee is clearly the deciding factor more than anything for people in big markets.
This is hysterical. https://lonestarrepublic.com/real-n...secures-first-player-transfer-in-club-history The highlights: Lone Star Republic Secures First Player Transfer in Club History, Signs Juan ‘Pelon’ Salas from Arlington FC for $70 of BAM (Bank Account Money) ----------- “I consulted with my accountant, Mint.com, and confirmed that I did indeed have the funds in my BAM account,” Tyler Watterson said. ----------- BAM (Bank Account Money) is a pool of money determined on a two week basis allocated by Tyler's sales career. It can be used for any club expense other than player and coach salaries, per the league rules. And how did he go about making the payment for the club’s first ever transfer? “I asked if I could mail an official check, they asked if I had Venmo, I said I could do Zelle from the company account, they said they didn’t have Zelle, so I Zelle’d my personal account and then Venmo’d from there,” said Watterson. Amazing stuff.
A player who once told myself and JP Dellacamera that he doesn’t watch MLS, while being in the league, or any other soccer for that matter because it doesn’t interest him is now an interim head coach for the Colorado Rapids.— Marc Connolly (@mconnolly10) May 1, 2019
Always felt bad for Revs fans because of how Kraft treats the team, but giving up 11 goals in 5 days, while scoring 1 is Chivas-level types of suckitude. Makes the league look awful.
“The Philadelphia Fury ... have informed the Nor'easters that they will be unable to field a team for Saturday's (May 11) exhibition game. The Fury... led by former Ocean City head coach Matt Driver, do not have enough players available to play the game.”Oof. https://t.co/VnJlu0JQNV— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) May 10, 2019
I'm hearing that @PhillyFuryASL will be backed by local Philadelphia entrepreneur Marty Judge of the Judge Group, who will serve as Chairman, as the club moves into pro soccer with @NISALeague.— Chris Kivlehan (@kivlehan) May 31, 2019
Considering how poorly the USMNT game at the Linc on Sunday is selling, the prices are still outrageous. I'm planning to wait until the last minute to purchase tickets that people might be willing to give away on Stubhub or might even buy at the venue to avoid TM surcharges. Is anyone aware of Offer Codes or BOGOs available for the game?
Same boat here.. I was gonna do Seat Geek with the "Cooligans" promo code for 10 bucks off on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Outrageous prices after ticket master fees...a pair of tickets at the American Outlaws price is still 137 bucks. Honestly the Union's deal is a really good one, but I don't need extras to the Orlando game.
I'm surprised that there aren't lower prices on Stubhub. With all of the free tickets given away and very low demand, I would have thought that there would be $10 tickets available by now. Maybe everyone who wants to go is waiting to buy?
My boss is from Curacao and a big supporter of their team. He does not want to go because of the price and traffic (based on the way tickets are going, I told him not to worry about the traffic). He is meeting up with a group of friends from Curacao to watch it at a bar in West Chester. The first time Curacao comes to Philadelphia and the powers that be screw it up so badly that Curacao supporters don't want to go.
Tickets are starting to drop on the secondary market... probably just going to buy a few hours before the first game on Sunday.
