Yes thanks. I have no idea how the defence is going to look. Might not be as bad. Otherwise the press would have been all over it. Through this injury crisis Mario Gotze has managed to remain rather durable. That's definitely a positive given his history.
That's great news and he will get his chance at left back, which is what the team needs. Not great since the next 3 games are all must wins. The team needs to win a trophy this season this signal to the world they are ready to challenge. The cup is the best chance of that. Schalke is a derby and the team MUST get top 4. So that's the most important game for me.
Schurrle, Guerreiro and Bartra all trained today. The only players missing in training so far are Schmelzer and Durm.
Guerreiro has a slight injury caused by playing 90 min right after he returned. He along with Sahin who has a stomach bug were the only players missing from training today. Despite that Raphael has Ben included in the Portuguese squad. WTF!! Reus is expected to make a cameo after the international break against Bayern.
Based on TT's presser: - Schurrle is still not able to play a full 90min. - Reus is starting intensive training. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
After winning Euro the stakes have risen. Now they want to win the WC. NT coaches don't give two shits about players. Their jobs are always on the line and get a few games here and there to prove their worth. They have to fight for every last crumb and that comes at all costs, even the players health. Players themselves don't realize this until later in their careers when they quit the NT to focus on their club careers.
ouch! that can potentially be a big ouch! Although I trust Weidenfeller can step up, will he step up for 8 weeks?
Ok, that's bad. There are some tough games ahead, including against direct league competitors for the CL spots and a hard cup game, and we have to hope that Weidenfeller will be solid. He saved us against Union when experience was crucial and not so much physical abilities. Needless to say, he will be tested more against the coming opponents (I hope the Madrid game won't end ugly). Either we can hang on until the winter break or we are potentially looking at a double digit deficit again.
Let's not forget that PEA will be missing a few games early next year due to that stupid Africa cup of Nations. This injury likely hurts TTs ability to structure the team even more.
In the press conference today TT revealed that Kagawa has ankle problems and he's seldom without pain.
Great to see Bender back and fair play to Kagawa plugging on with his injury. This explains why he has not been used a lot.
