You can only add players to the under-21 B list until the end of the group stage. I don't think there are any exceptions, maybe some dispensation for injured GKs. You just have to go with whatever match day 18 you can cobble together from the roster even if it means Adrian Ramos playing left back, lol.

I think you would have to make up the difference by adding more U-21/youth players to "List B" which can be amended at any time, or just go with fewer than 18 on the bench.
