Injury fear for Michael Owen

    LIVERPOOL, England, Oct 4 (Reuters) - England striker Michael Owen limped out of Liverpool's 2-1 Premiership defeat by Arsenal on Saturday, just seven days before his country's decisive Euro 2004 qualifier against Turkey.

    Owen, England's leading forward, fell awkwardly on his ankle in the second half of the game at Anfield and was later substituted.


    Houllier said that when Owen came off the pitch, the England striker said he feared he had broken his ankle.....

    Im gonna slap you!
    He hasnt broken it, and its not fractured, but if its not a muscle injury then he will miss the England game. He has a scan tomorrow.

    According to the scan some ligament between the tibia and fibula bones has torn. His chances of making the Turkey match are 50-50.
