Breen is a doubt for the Switzerland game while Trigger is out for another 4-6 weeks: http://www.soccercentral.ie/viewstory.asp?id=10862&mainheading=Republic+of+Ireland&viewstory=yes If Breen is not available, who should partner O'Shea in the middle? O'Brien or Dunne?
You would have to say O'Brien, simply because of Dunne's lack of games. That said, I think Dunne's a better player so I'll be hoping he gets back into the Man City team quick!
I don't think loosing breen is a huge loss really, it could be a blessing in disguise. I think we should play Carr at right back and Finnan at left. Its a shame to have Finnan on the bench and I'm sure he'd cope much better than Harte. Then play O'Shea and O'Brien in the centre. I think O'Brien can manage it.
I'd rather O'Brien then Dunne, and by some distance, but neither are overly inspiring choices. We'll need O'Shea to have a really big game for us if were put under pressure, and probably Given too. Let's just pray Breen gets fit for the match - never thought I'd say that
