    Keane Ligament Damage????

Hoddle confirmed Republic of Ireland striker Keane will have a scan on his badly swollen right ankle on Thursday morning, adding it may prompt him to make a last-ditch move in the transfer market.

Hoddle added: "Robbie shall have a scan in the morning and we won't know until then. We just hope it is not long-term.

"We have been looking for a striker and are still looking. We might get lucky but it is difficult because there is no movement in the market."

Has anybody heard anything about just how long Keane will be out for?

I am assuming that it is not particularly serious since there hasn't been any mention of it here...

I hope Duffs not rushed back, injurys have plagued his season so far. Anybody know if anybody has dropped out of our squad so far, or are the injured few looking likely to be fit and available?

Duff is out. There was still no sign of Delap for Southampton, and Robbie Keane started for Spurs but was taken off on 20 minutes for Gary Doherty (who scored).
I doubt any of those 3 will travel.

Well Keane has definitely pulled out, no word on Delap that I've heard anyway, presumeing all 3 mentioned are out, who do you think Kerr will bring in, if he brings in anyone at all?

I would say Partridge might be in line for a call-up. Keane's injury is knee-related, and he could be out for a long time. Hopefully he'll be fit for the Georgia and Albania matches.

Millwall's Robbie Ryan has been called into the squad obviously as cover for Harte. As I expected, this obviously rules out the prospect of Finnan being played in an unnatural Left-back berth. From the offset Kerr is already proven to be a shrewed opperator. Going over to Manchester to see Keane in person is one thing not many international managers would do for a single player, but with Keane's big influence at the club, together with the young Irish players at the club, also - no point in rocking the boat!

I saw Robbie Ryan against Southampton the other night, being honest I can't say he impressed me at all.

Where did you see Ryan was called up? The only player mentioned with regards to a late call up I found was Alan Maybury of Hearts, according to www.fai.ie.

Mark Kennedy and Gary Kelly are also out according to the FAI's website.

In some ways the absence of Duff and Robbie may not be a bad thing, as it will force Kerr to try out some other options up front and on the left.

Cunningham has picked up an injury in training today and may also be out. Kerr will announce his starting 11 tomorrow afternoon.

    U21

I think I would like to see Dunne and O'Shea at centre back but he has hinted that he may play O'Brien and O'Shea....

I cant see anything but Morrison and Connolly up front...Connolly should be at home playing against Scotland who are no more better than English First Divison standard.......uuuhh...Might regret saying that!

I hope Given is rested and Kiely is given a full game too...he deserves it and we know what Given can do anyhow.

Im a bit disappointed at Don Givens U21 starting selection. Im not a great Givens fan anyhow.

Team: Stack (Beveren); Brennan (Newcastle Utd.), Goodwin (Stockport), C.Byrne (Scunthorpe), Tierney (Crewe); Butler (Sunderland), Dempsey (Dunfermline), Thompson (Nottingham Forest), Hoolahan (Shelbourne); Barrett (Brighton), Reid (Nottingham Forest).

    No Hunt
    No Thornton
    No Melligan

All three have been getting rave reviews this season. They might get on a sub i suppose.

The game kicks off at 8pm on Sky Sports1.

yes Kiely deserves a game, Charlton have been doing really well this season, I hope Delap starts too. Will be interesting to see who starts on the left wing.

Hunts unlucky, but Reid and Barrett are high profile campaigners by now, I'd definitely of started Thornton though, I mean he's now broken into the Sunderland first team and has been absolutley raved about I'd of loved to see him in an U21 match, hopefully he gets subbed on.

Delap was left out of the Southampton match because his wife was having a baby. He is fully fit and will likely start.
    My guess at the team:
Given, Carr, Dunne, O'Shea, Harte, Reid, Delap, Holland, Kilbane, Morrison, Connolly.

Arrgh.... Harte and Kilbane on the left. Is Kerr feeling sorry for Scotland?

Put O'Brien in the centre at back, Dunne at leftback, Reid in front of him and Finnan on the right wing.

    Kiely
    Carr O'Shea O'Brien Dunne
    Finnan Holland Delap Reid
    Morrison Connolly

Special guest appearance by Roy Keane in the 2nd half.............. just kidding.

Anyone see Reid's performance against Southhampton in the FA cp replay last week?
I thought he had a great game, he was all over the place.

don't like the idea of dunne at left back, keegan tried him there with limited success, he's been warming the subs bench for the last few games.

he's probably the only player who actually slower than harte. i'd put finnan there.

btw the heir apparent to harte's left back crown - Paul Tierney, who currently on loan at Crewe doesn't seem to be playing too well according to what's being posted about him on rivals.net. after a bright opening he's faded considerably.

    Kiely
    Carr---O'Shea---O'Brien---Finnan
    Reid---Healy---Kilbane---Partridge
    Morrison---Connolly

Delap has gone home to be with his wife and new born son - a bit selfish there rory!!!!

kerr might call up partridge who's been named as a standby

    I saw the game too.

I was quite surprised how Reid 'put himself about' and got stuck into the southampton midfield. He played on the wing and in the centre and Millwall look very dependent on him to create the chances.

Harte and Kilbane potentially on the same wing again...ummmm....not good at all....i dont see why kerr would not play finnan at left back....its worth a shot...he is good enough to adapt (i.e Irwin for Ireland). Carr and Finnan going down the wings would be superb...it would be like going back to the old days of Irwin and Kelly(b4 his shin injuries) bombing down the wings......

Gary Kelly is arguably playing the best football of his career at the minute. he's been in fantastic form on the right wing for leeds
