Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had any links to any sites about Uruguay's WC winning squads of 1930 and 1950. Any information anyone has would useful. Thanks
Planet World Cup is probably the best web-site I know, I was actually just on it: http://www.planetworldcup.com
http://www.worldcup.isn.pl/en/winners/1930.htm http://www.worldcup.isn.pl/en/winners/1950.htm There is many more interesting sites but in spanish.
Spanish sites would be good please, I'm by no means fluent (or particularly competent) but I'll try my best.
http://www.todoslosmundiales.com.ar/ http://www.todoslosmundiales.com.ar/mundiales/1930uruguay/1930.htm http://www.todoslosmundiales.com.ar/mundiales/1930uruguay/1950.htm this is a great site - you could spend hours reading all the little stories about all world cups later on when I get home I'll look for more
1930 http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/es/p/pwc/1930.html 1950 http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/es/p/pwc/1950.html
Don't know if you're still looking, but this one is a definitive source: http://www.rsssf.com/miscellaneous/wcwinners.html
Erm... yeah, that's THE most complete site about historic football data there is. You should browse the entire thing. I actually download the entire site to my PC every few months.
i love seeing the historical clubs results again and again. did you know argentine first level had 35 teams for a couple of seasons in the 1900's ?
Thanks, the RSSSF is a fantastic resource. I was really looking for some narrative about a few players to put alongside that stuff. I appreciate it though.
There used to be a really nice website called "1930 World Cup Museum" but I don't know what happened to it. I belive it had articles about the players. I think I downloaded it to my other computer, which is broken. If you read Spanish, there are lots of decent bios on players on this site: http://futbolfactory.futbolweb.net/index.php?ff=historicos&f2=00005
