Hi, I'm trying to get some information on this kid, who apprently has enough talent to be signed by Man United (yes, I'm a fan). I hear he's really fast, and that he has pretty good dribbling skills as well. Sounds a lot like another kid we've got, Cristiano Ronaldo. Is all of this true? Also, I'm wondering if he'll be able to get a work permit. Does he have any caps for the full Chinese national team? I'm anxious to see him play, and if he's a big star for Dalian Shide right now, I wonder if the management will let him go so easily. Thanks
Dong has pace, no doubt about it. He was reportedly one of the fastest runners when he trained with the reserve squad at Old Trafford. In terms of dribbling skills. I've never seen him play so I cannot comment on this. Certainly his skills have to be good enough to get the attention of Man U, but I don't think he is as skilled as C. Ronaldo at this moment. Think of Dong as the young Hao Haidong. Both have similar physique and both play a similar style. He will not get a work permit because he has no caps for the Chinese national team. He's not a big star in Dalian Shide. He was not even their starting forward. Dalian Shide has many promising young stars and Dong is just one of them.
He never played for the senior NT. He is not even in the mix for the U-23 team. He is not even a starter for Dalian.
