It looks like a nice place to watch a game. If they could only hide the football lines.

It looks as though you guys and gals in the Inferno will practically be able to touch the goal. I hope no one gets injured by a wayward shot.

Does it cost more to sit in a real seat or more to be closer to the center?

Better be paying attention when Kreis winds up.

Might get a tooth knocked out if he goes wide.

Least you won't spill your beer.

Nice little stadium that will be a good stopgap until your real one is ready. I couldn't remember if it was in Dallas, but are there plans to paint over the lines? Hope so...

I could have sworn this was the Galaxy's motto.

The stadium looks ok, Burn fans. I'm sure it looks a lot better with the knowledge that a new one will be built soon.

I am going to catch crap for this (probably someone will tell me I'm full of it), but there have NEVER, EVER, EVER been that many Inferno people at a game. I have heard people drastically overestimate the numbers, and a bit of that is good. But in sheer numbers their turnout has been small. Yes, I have sat there on several occasions, when I am not sitting next to the equally fun Salvadorans or Mexicanos who call me "Vato" and ask me questions about the game in Espanol, which I don't really know all that well.

I expect the Inferno will grow immensely by the time the Frisco move happens, if not before.

The Inferno should be commended for its efforts, I guess...

That is the ugliest stadium I have ever seen in my life. It's sad that the other 9 teams will have to play matches there. Of course the football lines are bad. What's worse? How about that incredibly loud black end zone that wraps its way out to the 25 yard line. Funny thing is that whole monstrosity will be visible out on the playing field, not tucked behind the goals and outside the sidelines (are they going to fix this or does high school football take precedence in Texas [no need to answe my rhetorical question])? What's worse? Small field dimensions mean very sloppy matches. What's even worse? Turf: follow the bouncing ball and hope that your players don't get constantly injured.

Drink up guys, you'll need it. And keep supporting the team, the MLS and the soccer community need it.

That's about the size of it Eurojack. There's no denying that this venue is going to be a real drag, and will doubtless look even worse on TV than in person. I'll put the over/under on "Southlake=Bush League" threads tomorrow at 12.

We'll just keep telling ourselves for the next two years, "Go to your happy place."

At least some people can see the games live. I may get a trip to Columbus or 2 to see them. I'd rather see crap than not at all.

If you were a lady I'd show you my brown monstrosity if you know what I mean and I think you do.

You're right: my bad. You all were putting a positive light on a bad situation and I misunderstood that.

I just happened upon this post and saw how pleased everyone was with the stadium photo and thought...What the heck??

At least you guys in Dallas will have a spanking new Soccer Specific stadium in a few years. Here in DC, we are worried about having to play soccer on a baseball diamond, with no real promise of a new soccer stadium in sight.

    These growing pains are tough.

by the way, your prediction of "sloppy matches" from the "small" field dimensions is out the window- at least for the burn that is. our midfield was tight today and the wings had plenty of room out wide to exploit LA's defense. it was fun watching LA just stand there and stare longingly at the ball. but i guess in a way, they helped fulfill your prophecy of sloppy soccer :D

Figures. In the "Newsletter" section, the Inferno Forum could've been mentioned as a substitute for a Newsletter, but, of course, this opportunity was missed.

Oh well... maybe the people who care to visit will find it from the posted link to the website.

Certainly would've been nice to 'point it out' though.

I don't think that my prediction of sloppy matches from a small field with fake grass is "out the window." I will reserve judgement for when I see one of these matches. But I do still stand behing that prediction.

Kudos to the Burn if they were able to keep it under control in such tight, "indoor-like" conditions!

Actually Eurojack, the width is not a particular problem with this field. It measures in at 70 yards wide which makes it wider than Spartan and Naperville at least which I guess is not saying much. The stadium was originally built with a wider than normal field to accomodate the HS soccer team although the bright lines are certainly not very accomodating.

If our play was sloppy, it had much more to do with our piss-poor passing which had me gesturing disgustedly all game long once I realized that my cursing was not especially well-received.

    ...been there before.

By the way, I was looking at some 3D renderings of the new stadium complex in Frisco and it looks very nice. However, when I saw the last picture (of 4 or 5), it showed a field that was replete with those pesky gridiron lines.

Is the main stadium going to be a multi-purpose field? That would be too bad if you to hold an MLS Cup match the day after a high school football championship. Hopefully, that's not correct and the stadium is solely for soccer.

Sadly, it will be a multi-purpose field. Consequently the field will have the remnants of football lines from Friday night games in the fall. What worries me the most is whether or not the field will be ripped up down the middle by the football teams.
