Indoor players to MLS?

Discussion in 'USA Men' started by passtheblizz, Mar 10, 2003.

  1. Is there any chance for indoor players to make it to the MLS or even maybe the USMNT? I know that players like Preki played both indoor and outdoor successfully, but is it possible today for a player just out of school to play in the MISL for a few years before switching to the MLS? I am wondering because I know some guys who play in the MISL now becuase they make more money than they do playing in the A-league or for MLS reserve teams. They still want to play in the MLS eventually, but for now they see the Wave (MISL)as a better option. (Note: the Wave acquired the Milwaukee Rampage so some of these guys might be able to play on both teams now) Does anyone think we will ever see another player like Preki, or has the MLS eliminated the need for really good outdoor players to ever play indoor professionally, even at a young age?

i doubt that there will ever be a man that will dominate both leagues like preki has at his position... and the fact that he was an indoor player and an active member of the national team at points in his career will probably never be done again as well.

It would be liked Kurt Warner in American football. Even a good soccer player can be overlooked by MLS. He might end up in the indoor league. He might become a dominating player. If lucky, he might get into MLS again.

But he must get back into outdoor before he would have a chance with the USMNT.
