Anyone have a resource for skills, drills, help for an indoor goalie? Cheers, Mi3ke PS: Yes i realize it is a subset of a subset of a subset.
http://www.jbgoalkeeping.com/training.html Generally, it's all the same. Are you playing indoor with walls or without?
I made a blog post about it you can read here: Indoor goalkeeping tips. If you're playing with walls, another thing that is different is when the ball is at an angle, you must be right against the near post--if there's a gap, the ball can ricochet off the wall, off your leg, and in through even a small gap. To compensate some for leaving the far post more exposed, open your body position to the field (be up against the post but angled to face the field, not the ball) so you have a better chance at balls that get played across the face of the goal or shot far post.
Benji, I saw this near post technique taught (indoor) about twenty years ago. . . have never really bothered to update as it seemed to make sense. Keeper is right up against near post, making contact (or at least very close). Inside arm is up and field-side arm is down. It's a little unorthodox but seems to protect against getting "roofed".
