I recall reading somewhere that the movie will take place in the middle of the Space Race (circa sometime during the 1960's or early 1970's) and that despite the Soviets initially looking to be the antagonists for the second consecutive film, it turns out that Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler a Nazi (or Nazis) will be the actual main villian through Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Operation Paperclip, which might explain Mads Mikkelsen's character. Or then again, that idea could just be a total red herring for us. In any case, despite my reservations of an Indiana Jones film without Steven Spielberg directing, I'm still excited for this one. How about you? -G

So the young Indie stuff in there is not done with The Irishman style techniques but instead with roughly what they used for young Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian?
Apparently so, though I’d have to read up on what they did for that one to be sure. In any case, there’s a pretty good article on this film’s de-aging process here. -G
Not as bad as I'd feared but not as good as I'd hoped; I can take it or leave it. A fun movie but lacked some of the magic of the other movies in the franchise [even Crystal Skull]. Crystal Skull had a few really big flaws. This movie seemed to have a bunch of smaller flaws.
It could’ve been a bit shorter in the middle, but otherwise I really enjoyed it, particularly the opening portion in 1944. I also especially liked how it ended, both in the satisfying way it wound down both the movie and the franchise as a whole and because it wasn’t the previously-rumored original ending of Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Indy dying in the past and being erased from history altogether. This was my first time back in a theater in years and watching this movie made it worth it (despite the increased ticket prices nowadays… yikes! ). -G
