If Biden was president this conflict would have never happened Speaking of mushy brains jesus the propaganda from this conflict makes Russia look like children. Indian propaganda is truly pathetic. Do not get me Pakistan is no slouch but India is a notch higher
It helps that Indians and Pakistanis really, really, really hate each other. None of this amateur hate among Europeans.
They don’t. They just really really really really really hate each others’ country. There’s a big difference.
Not an appeal to authority, but I suspect I probably know more about this than you. My three closest friends are an Indian Sikh, a Bangladeshi Muslim and a Pakistani Muslim (who are all mutual friends too). Indians and Pakistanis often get along on a personal level. They just don’t like each others’ governments.
Your gauches are people living abroad, influenced by the environment they live in now, or with memories told from times before the Brits fokked up the subcontinent. Things changed after the separation and the following bloodbath and migration of hindu and muslims in opposite directions.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-02...pakistan-led-to-chaos-and-bloodshed/101980234 Stories that need to be told The impact of the violence during partition was felt for decades afterwards. Ordinary people had paid a heavy toll for a border between nations. Muhammad Israrul Haq's son, Naeem, was raised in Australia surrounded by stories of partition. "I grew up amongst a whole generation that witnessed the partition. My grandfather lost his wife, he lost his daughter, and my khala (aunt) was born, her name was Ghafura, she died of starvation, literally, that was in the refugee camp. "The trauma of the partition, it really played out all their lives."
There are other considerations beyond what is included in that comparison on why a country would select one airplane over another. In the case of India, the reason why they went with the Rafale is because it had a superior avionics and lifecycle cost compared to the other airplanes that were in the competition.
*shrug* I'm not sure if Chinese fighters were offered. The competition was back in 2008 between F/A-18, F-16, Rafale, MIG-35, Eurofighter, and Gripen. Also, we don't know the situation around the dogfight other than both groups were on their side of the border. We also don't know if India shot down any Pakistani fighters. The only reason we know about the Rafale and Su-30 is because their wreckage landed in Pakistan.
India claims to have shot down 300-400 drones launched from Pakistan overnight that were aimed at military targets in the Indian Kashmir region. Pakistan denies that they were behind the drone attack. https://bsky.app/profile/shashj.bsky.social/post/3loqfry5bv22b
Pakistan says India launched missiles at their airbases. They are retaliating. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/othe...stani-air-bases/ar-AA1EuKPH?ocid=BingNewsSerp
Sec Rubio announces ceasefire Over the past 48 hours, VP Vance and I have engaged with senior Indian and Pakistani officials, including Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif, External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, and National Security Advisors Ajit Doval and Asim Malik. I am pleased to announce the Governments of India and Pakistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire and to start talks on a broad set of issues at a neutral site. We commend Prime Ministers Modi and Sharif on their wisdom, prudence, and statesmanship in choosing the path of peace.
Now getting some spin from New Delhi Clearly, India won't let the US take the credit for understanding achieved with Pakistan https://t.co/4zm9YsGm7A— Sidhant Sibal (@sidhant) May 10, 2025
Countries who welcomed/reacted to India, Pakistan understanding/Ceasefire US EU Saudi Arabia UAE Turkiye Azerbaijan Egypt -US/Pakistanis calling it ceasefire -India terming it an understanding (Major difference in the terminology)
And now, both sides are accusing the other of violating the hours-old ceasefire with explosions heard in India-controlled Kashmir. Additionally, the American announcement that the two sides would sit down and talk about other issues seems to have not been a part of the agreement. Or, at least India in essence has said "hell no" to that: "There is no decision to hold talks on any other issue at any other place." Previous agreements like the Indus Waters Treaty remain suspended.
I think it is fair to say that India and China hate each other. India was more in the Russian sphere of influence as far as “The Global South” goes..
And India/China are both BRICS nations, so of course they could have done a deal for china's jets, amirite? BRICS!
