I agree but it doesn't matter. We still have two young CBs. Cahill and Luiz (tho 1 is likely sold) and Dave who can provide cover (yes likely even in a back 4). That's 3 to 4 players plus Ampadu if he doesn't go on loan. And whatever happens with Zouma. We will be fine there.

 

CBs are not what we need. Though if Zouma and Luiz move on, I could see it.

I've seen all kinds of things like Sarri doesn't like the transfer market, transfer markets are for the weak, etc. Fine, but managers aren't involved in the transfer market - especially at Chelsea. Odd how it's taken fans, especially English ones on Twitter, such a long time to come to grips with this. The idea of a GM in sports has been common in the US for a long time.

Even more unique in our situation is that we don't have a board to make these decisions. It's basically Roman.

Apparently while we've been sitting on our arses Seri has agreed terms with Fulham. There's still some questions with that though. Some saying we've pulled out because we're close to getting Jorginho.

Regardless, we're going to end up losing Hazard and Courtois and then bringing in RLC, Zouma, Bats and a keeper. We need fullbacks, wingers, and a striker. Hell I'm fairly convinced the keeper we bring in will be Butland....

 

Seri will likely be a starter with Fulham. And if we get Jorginho, it doesn't make sense to sign Seri as well.

What makes the most sense for this club is that we wind up signing neither.

The higher ups are probably kicking themselves they let Wilshere slip through their fingers.
