500 million seems high but if that is what someone is willing to pay then so be it.

My guess is the final price will be between $425,386,254.38 and $442,766,933.74.

Now what do I win if I'm right?

Actually seems like a bargain to me. Latest round of expansions were $325M so you'd have to start there. Another $175M for facilities, stadiums, academy locations, high schools, and 2 other professional teams including one of the better supported teams in the NWSL? Seems worth it. I mean, you could probably bulldoze the training grounds in Herriman and develop real estate for more than $175M.

I looked at a townhouse while I was house shopping in 2018 that was right across the corridor from the academy. The asking prices for those, given how far west and south they were, was shocking to me. And, based on my recent refi and appraisal (at a different place), they've only gone up.

I'd take Lagerway back as well. Hard no to Kreis. As for prior good employees? Sure, why not.

why in the blue hell would Lagerway leave the setup he has in Seattle? Sure, send a brinks truck and you might pique his interest, but he will never get the sell appeal in SL that he has in Seattle. That's a simple reality. Lagerway has no serious ties to this club, honestly. For as much as this was his break (you could argue it was actually DC) he has made an absolute name for himself at Seattle. Instead of looking at going back, I want him involved with the USMNT setup as a "GM" there... but that aint gonna happen under current USSF guidance.

I'm doing my part to bring up home prices in the area. I'm paying way more than any rational person should ever pay for a townhouse, but it's 100% worth it to me to get out of Utah County for the first time, and get even a little closer to a night life. (I'll still spend 90% of my Friday nights watching Netflix in my underwear, but at least I'll have other options!)

According to the latest RSL Show podcast there are supposedly 8 different groups vying for the ownership. Rumored asking price, for everything, is around $500 Million. When you break that down, it seems fairly accurate and possibly even a bit on the low side. With 8 possible groups, the question becomes if that price goes up in a bidding war or if each group has a portion of it they are more interested in and the "club" gets piecemealed.

Given how sporadic the first team performances have been, the up and down nature of the Monarchs, the well documented underperformance of the Royals, not to mention all of the business side... its hard to see a world where a new ownership comes in and gets the status quo in any capacity. Really, this is about as good of a case for a rebrand as you'll get. Our crest and such doesn't look dated, but it's not exactly exciting and fresh, either. There isn't anything in this club, to me, that you look at and go "no, that can't change at all".

I don't want to go the Monson route and bring back old faces. The platform of "Make RSL Great Again" is not gonna work. I love Lagerway, but sequels are almost never as good as the first go round. For both parties case, I just don't see the big selling point in making that happen. Even a ridiculous amount of cash, it just doesn't feel right. I want this club to try something completely different. Like the RSL Show guys said, go HARD after a Mexican international for the first team. More than that, go hard after a Mexican international coach and staff. It's wild how little this club has done to connect with that community. Did they think giving some fans a couple (hundred) drums was going to be enough?

The first player acquisition I hope this new ownership group makes is for someone like Ochoa (the Mexican national team one) or Chucky Lozano who is struggling to get minutes at Napoli. Get someone that will entice that market this club refuses to cash in on. How this club watched Blanco come here and pull out thousand of fans that never went to RSL games before and didn't act on it is ridiculous.

The old ideas are just that, old. The league is vastly different than it was in 2013, let alone 2009-2010. Thinking we can return to the top of the league by mimicking what was done in those days is just not going to cut it. I'm not expecting an LAFC level of commitment here to top end talent, but a shift needs to be made. Hard. If you allow any of the old culture to remain, the mold will come with it.

I really wish the team would've gone after El Piojo instead of Petke when Cassar was let go. Sure, we would've seen similar theatrics and results, but man that guy is fun to watch.

it still baffles me that this club let Martin Vasquez go. I'm not saying he's a perfect solution by any means, but that kind of just happened and nobody talked about it and I still don't get why

Racist thinking in the front office will lead to simplistic thinking about reaching out to a market and strike off any plan to make the team more popular with 'undesirable' fans.

There's literally been nothing said, and no follow up made. I don't even know if he was fired, if he resigned, or what?

A brief internet search doesn't show him anywhere else. I'm guessing he left for personal reasons (nefarious or no), and everybody wished to keep it private. Weird.

This Soapbox piece is kind of interesting.

"The rumored interested party is also a high-powered political donor, and he has often ruffled feathers with his political actions".

It'll be kind of a shame if, going in, the new owner offends half of the fanbase with his politics.

I'm really concerned that DLH is going to try and sell the team to a new owner that he has influence with or over and that will keep him around.

Hopefully MLS will not let this happen and get RSL some decent ownership that is more balanced than the first two owners. Uncle Dave was amazing but didn't have the funding and all DLH seemed to have is money. Which can't buy a lot of things from the looks of DLH.

I’ve heard Batemans name mentioned and not with any enthusiasm.

MLS. HAS. TO. GET. THIS. RIGHT.

If RSL ends up with another POS owner this could be bad, very bad.

Talk about sucking the life out of a franchise.
