Ya know, I agree with Reagan here. When I get named dictator for life, I’d get rid of the corporate income tax. I’d make up for the $$$ lost by taxing the same kind of people who own lots of stocks…I’d raise more money from the rich, I’d impose a normal-sized financial transaction tax, maybe add a tax on dividends or the gains on stock sales.

This is a position where cogent arguments from the right changed my mind long ago. It doesn’t make sense to me to tax corporate profits.

 

Dividends and gains are already taxable. I don't necessarily support eliminating corporate income taxes but it is at least a legitimate argument. Unlike current Republican arguments about immigrants eating pets.

 

I’m posting this in part to reiterate that Robinson is toast (this news obvisouly was, um, overtaken by events) and in part because one of the anchors at this TV station goes to my church.

Eliminate corporate taxes and everyone will be a corporation.

 

Just for the hell of it, let’s make a list of the big stories from one day, yesterday.

1. Trump planted the seed for future pogroms by saying if he doesn’t win it’s the Jews’ fault.
2. Mark Robinson.
3. Gaetz is gonna be indicted.
4. Chris Rufo was revealed to have an Ashley Madison account.
5. Olivia Nuzzi and RFKJR apparently had a sexting relationship.
