Whether it's a straight Christian molesting children or a gay Christian molesting children, it's still a Christian molesting children.

His access to children was because he was a Christian. His church gave him a status that encouraged parents to let him host their children in his house because he was a Christian youth leader. It wasn't because he was gay, it was because he is a Christian.

When you remove the Christian identifier to stress solely the gay identifier, which you explicitly did, you are being homophobic, given his particular sexual orientation is secondary. Furthermore, you haven't even demonstrated that he is gay - you assume it.

And because you regularly use homophobic tropes, even though you have been called out on it time and again, you have absolutely no standing to criticize other people for making what you consider to be homophobic posts.

 

Weird that "same sex molesters" are rarely gay and are typically married white men or young adult white men,,,

 

Plus he's simply lying through his teeth. superdave was the one who highlighted and assumed the sexual orientation and he explicitly said "gay", not "same sex" (see his quote below). This is despite the fact we don't know if the guy is actually gay or not because, as you indirectly allude to, FBI data demonstrate that only a very small percentage of child molesters care what the particular sex of the child is.

 

When I was growing up, they were all youth coaches, like my old baseball coach that eventually became a younger cousin's predator. Thankfully, he died in prison, leaving the world no poorer, and keeping my Aunt & Uncle from having to commit a felony and me from having to drag a body out to the rez and sink it in a gravel pit.

These days, it's youth ministers, scout leaders and cops, with the older "college ministers" having affairs from their college flock not, illegal, but grossly unethical and immoral. The older / adult male clergy (at least among the Protestants) really seem to be the ones going after the underage girls...

At the end of the day, it's always been about access and power. In another generation or two, once we finally get around to at least making a show of prosecuting these people, they will move on to another arena where they have trust and access

 

He's also used the word "Negro" to refer to Black folks, and defended "colored" once when my words frustrated him beyond the point of composure.

I'm somewhat amazed that after so many cards in such a short period of time, he's still willing to die yet again on this same hill. I find him comedic, but the mods do not.
