The fact that one of the two major political parties, including the owner of this site, went all in on an incendiary lie seems like the kind of thing you’d expect reporters to hound the liars over, but as it happens they’d only do that if it were the other party. https://t.co/2K4L3nKtIB— Brian Beutler (@brianbeutler) September 10, 2024
Has any academic written a book, or at least an essay, on the connection between the, um, lighter aspects of Trumpism (by that I mean all the showmanship, not the fascism) and pro wrestling? Seems like an easy way for some poor adjunct Ph.D. To get a payday. It's wrestling. The face (Kamala) has to honor tradition, be a role model for kids and win 'the right way.' The heel (Trump) has to be funny on the mic, keep the drama fresh and win by any means necessary, to include sending a mob of roided up mooks to beat up the ref backstage. https://t.co/rQyhsHpbsM— zeddy (@Zeddary) September 9, 2024

Pundits and policy wonks have rightly pointed out the infeasibility of various left-wing programs, from their funding to implementation , but this tops them all. It's a child's idea of how immigration enforcement could work.— Shadow Of The Nerdtree (@agraybee) September 9, 2024
It's constantly demanded by the media that Dems put out detailed policy positions, while the GOP messaging is all based around some completely made up Facebook comment forward hoax. Both sides. https://t.co/9Vt12KeLUQ— Centrism Fan Acct 🔹 (@Wilson__Valdez) September 9, 2024

This is not new. I went to high school in Flushing, Queens in 1997-2001 and there was a running joke among parents of my classmates about how there are no more stray dogs in Flushing and if you know Flushing, you know what that references. You know who else is from Queens?— Nicky Frank (@NickyFrank30) September 9, 2024

Gah, that stings. I don't think it's the degree. I do think it's the fact that a lot of these people wished they were covering sports or entertainment. That, and he's a former Hill writer. I was lucky enough to learn under people who were still reporting. My intro to journalism professor was a guy who worked for the Wall Street Journal at the time. I had several others who cut their teeth under old school journalists. It annoys me that I had to take an ethics class to graduate with my degree, and even a few years ago I was hesitant about donating to Dems for ethical reasons. But seeing AG Sulzberger, a guy who is where he is because of who his father is, whine that Biden or Harris won't give them an interview is telling. And as I said, a lot of people wish they were in sports. As Charles Pierce said, they're not used to the rejection. And it's twofold more tough to deal with compared to how Biden handled them. Which leads to another thing, there is however, a problem of nepotism. AG Sulzberger isn't getting where he is were his father not the previous chairperson at the NY Times (And his father benefited from nepotism, too). Tucker Carlson ain't getting into media were his father not the director of Voice of America. Peter Doocy ain't getting his job (And he is awful) were his dad not a prominent person at Fox. Same with Maggie Haberman. All most likely benefited from their parents in some way.
Let’s be clear: This is illegal and unconstitutional. The American people had voted. The courts had ruled. The Electoral College had met and voted. The Governor in every state had certified the results and sent a legal slate of electors to the Congress to be counted. The Vice… https://t.co/8OVgVLh8Ol— Liz Cheney (@Liz_Cheney) September 10, 2024
I’m afraid to ask but what “amnesty” is this talking about? Is there a movement to jail people associated with the vaccine? Today marks 3 years since Biden-Harris mandated the COVID vaccine for 100+ MILLION workers.Never forget. Never forgive. No pandemic amnesty. pic.twitter.com/tPiW22yOOX— End Wokeness (@EndWokeness) September 9, 2024
Keep this number in mind. I’d already seen analysts say that the 3% that meant a super tight race in 2020 is now 2%. This guy is saying it’s just over 1%. Conventional wisdom is Kamala Harris needs to win the popular vote by 3+ points to win.Our @VoteHubUS adjusted polling average suggests a >1.1 point lead nationally would be enough to keep her ahead in the Electoral College if state polls were to shift uniformly toward Trump. pic.twitter.com/lqQZW3gZWU— Garrett Herrin (@GarrettHerrin) September 10, 2024
