In which we yet again post yet another ten thousand plus interesting or amusing -or neither- tweets

If you’re referring to Israel, I’m staying out of that aspect of the story for now. Like you, I’ve seen people trying to argue for a strong connection to Israel. That may end up being true at the end. But my experience when it comes to Israel is that any big story has its mix of legit reporting, and barely disguised anti Semitism. So I’m going to wait until the latter shakes itself out before diving into it.

I don’t know how many other liberals/progressives I speak for, but I find those stories too depressing to force myself to follow. Netanyahu’s Israel is increasingly inimical to America and American democracy. We all see that. But at the same time, a lot of the opinions and narratives out there about Israel have a tinge (and sometimes more) of rank anti Semitism.

 

What is anti Semitic about pointing out that someone who was under investigation for sexually abusing minors was allowed to leave the country?? Snowden fled to Russia because of safe harbor. Why would Epstein flee to Israel before his sweetheart deal (look into it if you don’t know it was a total joke for the crimes committed) if he was a Russian asset?

The best lies are half truths. It’s becoming more obvious to people that he was working with intelligence to the point where it’s impossible to deny. The better question is why is traditional media trying to convince you he was working for Russia, when he fled to Israel before his sweetheart deal (drug users get longer sentences and probation. His crimes warranted 20 years)? His ties to Ehud Barak are more numerous than any ties to any Russian politician.
