The delusion of thinking it would be easy to conquer France. These people are high on their own supply.
I noticed the price increases, of course. What I was wondering was whether the cause was as harebrained as that post implied.
Yes, one of the major manufacturers dropped out of the consumer segment because of their data center commitments. Nvidia and AMD have both been public since about possibly reissuing parts based on the prior manufacturing node to try to deal with the consumer market. The gigantic price increases haven't hit GPUs (though certain models are disappearing, 5090 increased and it's just gone, and prices are going up 10-40%) and SSDs (over 50% so they're getting there) yet but it's expected. They're talking about delaying the next generation game consoles
A January 6th insurrectionist who Trump pardoned is now being charged with molesting a child. Trump’s pardon released him from prison. pic.twitter.com/aS9gvgXY1C— No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen (@NoLieWithBTC) January 20, 2026 I'd be willing to bet money that Trump pardoned more child sex offenders (Jan 6th) than ICE has apprehended this year— Liam Nissan™ (@theliamnissan) January 20, 2026

Trump’s Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent: "Someone, maybe your parents, for their retirement have bought 5, 10, 12 homes." Ah yes, the average American retirement plan: owning a dozen homes. So out of touch with ordinary Americans.pic.twitter.com/atAyczUX2X— Republicans against Trump (@RpsAgainstTrump) January 20, 2026
Remember, if you object to a 79-year-old American president threatening war against a longtime NATO ally, and explicitly saying it was because he wasn’t given a Nobel Peace Prize, there are Americans who will insist that your objection is a sign of “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”— Jim Geraghty (@jimgeraghty) January 20, 2026

This is just a perfect expression of the Trump attitude: When Trump tries to fire a Fed governor for political reasons, that's not politicizing the Fed. It's only when Jerome Powell attends a Supreme Court hearing that it's being politicized. What nonsense. pic.twitter.com/7UjRnZa5P3— James Surowiecki (@JamesSurowiecki) January 20, 2026

Once again with the Trump administration, it's like Hypocrisy and Irony get together for superhot and mutually humiliating hate sex.
At first glance it looks like a desperate ploy to be seen as the peacemaker, at second glance it is a full blown attack on the validity of the UN.
