MAGA scientific method at work here “make the proof” RFK Jr on Tylenol and autism: "It is not proof. We're doing the studies to make the proof." pic.twitter.com/57h9BjNyoL— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) October 9, 2025
FWIW, this is how they* think it actually works--you see this in how they talk about history as well; they already 'know' how things are supposed to work and what lessons we are to take from 'knowing' what reality is supposed to be, so they judge both history and science when they, respectively, follow the correct narrative and produce the correct results. This is a feature, not a bug. *I'm talking MAGA here, but I'd reckon there a more precise cohort this really applies to.
I remember an old comic strip that compared science and "creation science". The panel for science had the scientist saying something along the lines of "here are the facts, what conclusions can we draw from them?", while the panel on "creation science" had the creationist pointing to the Bible saying: "here are the facts, now how can we make the evidence fit them?". The latter is precisely what RFK and co are doing.
Exactly. I'm saying that I don't think the problem either with RFK or the scenario in that strip is religion or 'faith' per se; it's the teleological nature of how authoritarians see reality and understand what knowledge is and what it's for.
I believe the answer lies in humanity's greatest treatise on the subject, Star Trek Generations, wherein a human who becomes a being of pure mind will create a heavenly reality based on their corporeal existence because that is all that such minds can comprehend.
The president said today, gesturing to a glass of water, that babies might have autism because they are injected with vaccines "twice the size of a jar like that, a glass of water like that." The standard dose of the MMR shot that has *no* link to autism is a tenth of a teaspoon.— Daniel Dale (@ddale8) October 9, 2025
"But you have to be specific about which kind of pizza" "Be pacific!!?? My yass! If you don't shaddap, yaw gunna be swimmin in the Atlantic!"
Jesus, what a horrible headline. "________________, ________________, and ___________ win this year's Nobel prizes as Selection Committe rejects Trump's emotional plea" Do we have any reason to think Norway is "bracing" for anything?
Great. I’m looking forward to Ken Paxton’s indictment. https://t.co/G6zp2oPp4p pic.twitter.com/ipfjM8OBHT— Angry Staffer (@Angry_Staffer) October 10, 2025
even better: Alvin, Simon, Theodore Win 2025 Nobel Prize Selection Comittee ignores pleas from US President Why is it that I can write better headlines than the people who get paid to do it? This isn't the time to make people click or buy by making Trump the focus of your article. should have been working on sales when that mattered. This is the time to wreck his tender ego by not mentioning him in the largest print. Not a dig at the winners, I just didn't have time to google to see who they were

The surest way to screw up the world’s best technical school is to let feds tell them how to run it.Congrats to my alma mater for turning down a bribe to let the executive branch dictate what happens on its campus.A lot of things are wrong in 🇺🇸, but MIT is not one of them. https://t.co/gGUHeywo3S— Thomas Massie (@RepThomasMassie) October 11, 2025
If I wasn't a bit long in the tooth, I'd be tempted to join ICE, just so I could ******** things up and take notes. Sort of like a cross between Dumb and Dumber and Donnie Brasco.
