I'm hoping that if Harris wins and it's a blowout, it makes us stop treating data people and polls as gospel. Not just in elections but in general. Will say again that a lot of them are arrogant and will again mention that they've never been good at predicting.

That’s just the thing. Polls aren’t predictive. Even when the polls are done correctly, the interpretation and extrapolation is where it goes off the rails. I think this is a failure of pollsters overstating their function and importance. Basically, they are promoting that the tail wag the dog, not the other way around. Polls can be used to course correct and plan, but it really is similar to the roulette tables posting the last 10 or so rolls on the board. They make you think you are gaming the system like blackjack card counting, but in reality the roulette “deck” is reshuffled every roll. The media focusing on who is up or down instead of focusing on policy is the large problem. Anyhow, this was one of the W. Bush admin sayings that I agreed with, that they weren’t led by polls. They created the narrative, and it was their job to implement policy and sell it so that the polls/public would come around.

irony When a politician says they want to stop “misinformation”, what they really mean is that they want to stop anyone from contradicting their lies https://t.co/BSgeWXEATM— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 4, 2024
Why is this happening on BS? I deliberately avoided having a account with those @$$holes, and now we've gotta refresh over and over here to see tweets...
I’m fairly confident @DRUDGE’s lifetime ROI is orders of magnitude higher than @realDonaldTrump’s. pic.twitter.com/OKGWRJoGtT— gtconway.bsky.social (@gtconway3d) November 3, 2024
I feel seen. aside: I’m even getting errors trying to quote post tweets! here’s what the tweet says: Friendly reminder that from now until Wednesday, we are living in the metaphorical equivalent of an airport lounge. Calories don't count. Money doesn't matter. No one will judge you for having a beer at 10am.

This is funny. Kind of a dickish question though. NEW — I asked the Trump campaign why the coup-attempting, now convicted criminal, former president is an unfocused mess in these final days. If Harris wins big and in a surprising way, I want AT LEAST 4 years of @nytimes stories interviewing +65 and younger women to “understand” why MAGA Rs just can’t connect with them.— Doran Schrantz (@DSchrantz) November 3, 2024
100%. The scary similarities is why I have put down the Shirer book for now. The great German industrialists of the 1930s found Adolf Hitler crude. But they disliked democracy and taxes and regulation far more. #HistoryMatters https://t.co/KDAnsnhzyc— Lee West (@WhoDat35) November 2, 2024
I have found that post g text makes tweets more likely to show up Who won the day? Trump https://t.co/FiNmE8Hvan— POLITICO (@politico) November 4, 2024
Not seeing that on my end. But what does work is when I quote-post a post with an embedded tweet, then everything shows up. Then I delete. So if any of you are getting alerts that I quoted you, and nothing appears, that is what is happening. But I’m even getting errors trying to quote-post or edit an embedded tweet!
BANNING some vaccines is on the table. On RFK Jr. and vaccines:DASHA: Do you think banning certain vaccines might be on the table?TRUMP: Well I'm going to talk to him and talk to other people, and I'll make a decision, but he's a very talented guy and has strong views.— Dasha Burns (@DashaBurns) November 3, 2024
If this pans out (84-13 among Black voters), it would basically be what many of us have been expecting for about a year — a slight shift among Black voters toward Trump relative to 2020.But not the massive racial realignment that most polling was showing for most of the race. https://t.co/baRGomNGlk— Adam Carlson (@admcrlsn) November 4, 2024
