I haven't listened to it, but it reads as if Trump is arguing that "Cheney needs to be put in a combat situation, then she won't be so quick to start a war."

I don’t think so. He used an oddly specific number for the rifles. My guess is he thinks there are 9 people in a firing squad, or maybe 10 with 1 of them having a blank. He was talking about a firing squad.

 

Here’s a thread about this incident. What’s interesting is the neologism “litigate the apostrophe.” I wonder what precisely it will come to mean. Me, I’m going to use it for when media spend a ton of energy trying to count the angels dancing on the head of a pin while there’s a coup going on.

Trying to litigate the apostrophe between "I was merely imagining my opponent being shot, not fantasizing about ordering the shooting" seems less relevant and less honest than just tying it to the stuff he's said about violence and persecuting opponents a million times before
