I took my response to this post private just now. I’ve been stewing over it. I have problems with the tone.
Yeah, you're right. Six-seven weeks. Meant to say a little under two months. Sorry. You can tape over the top of a tomato or the bottom of a pineapple, and they'll last 3-4 weeks.
yes. it’s important to remember real journalists do great work there. it’s the editorial decisions that are baffling. like the decision on how to allocate the front page. worth supporting other journalists IMO
Much like the Wall Street Journal, really. Only drop the word "decisions" from the post for the WSJ, while keeping "editorial"
I can remember things from 50 years ago, gasoline crisis, Watergate, Mideast conflict, (well that hasn't changed) and the Caps being horrible, they went 8-67-5.
I don't think the Vancouver Whitecaps played that many games in their first year of existence 50 years ago
I am about 1 year older than this logo and this place. Which no longer exists, apart from it's doppleganger, the saddledome.
I remember when my folks drove past the Watergate apartments and pointed them out to 10 or 11 year-old me. They were doc candidates at American. I thought it would be this stark building and have armed guards. Saw Wes Unseld, Phil Chenier and the rest of the Bullets there BITD.
Speaking of Wes Unseld and Elvin Hayes, that Capitals logo looks like the same person did one of the old Washington Bullets logos.
I was 9 when my parents took me. We actually ate at the Watergate--I had a hamburger. Waiter asked how I wanted it done and I replied "With ketchup." I was a stupid kid.
