But we've known that since 2016 - remember what he said about POWs? That was the day my dad, a POW in Korea, stopped being a Republican.

You father is a rare breed. 95% of Republicans haven't noticed that he's anti-troops, anti-America, anti-patriotism, anti-American's friends, pro-America's enemies. He waves the flag and attacks people, and that's enough for them.

Most of them don't really care. You are hung up on policies and to these people that is secondary. They want a father-like authority figure to be leader. And your father is never wrong.

Well, my dad also had a French wife, two gay sons and a black son-in-law (sister's husband). Let's just say he was swimming against the very strong political current in our family. That it took Trump effectively insulting him personally as a POW to be the final straw, rather than the anti-French, anti-gay, anti-black actions and attitudes of the GOP, spoke volumes as to how entrenched he was as a Republican.

"Establishment media" ... I have never in my life heard of this woman, but those two words tell me all I need to know. And then some.

She's the one who accused Biden of sexual assault and now works for Russian television. Nothing suspicious there. :whistling:

The way he shit all over the Khan family should've been the last straw for a lot of people for whom it in fact was not the final straw. If such a thing even exists.

I am trying to imagine Dem POTUS candidate crapped over Hillary like that. I mean, not while running against her, just as a side point of nastiness. I'm pretty sure that I would detest that candidate.

It all gets jumbled up; I forget which horrible thing came before that horrible thing, which came after that other horrible thing.

I also remember posting on Facebook, way back in 2015, that his unkind comments about Carly Fiorina at an early debate would likely derail his campaign. God, I was such a naive fool.

I know, it's all so weird. Because along with being the nastiest campaigner on record, he's also the softest, whiniest campaigner on record, always going on about how people are mean to him. It's bizarre that voters don't connect those two dots and write him off as being the hypocrite that he is.

You will respond, but he says the things they want to hear. Well yeah but so does DeSantis, and the voters judge his behavior. But not Trump's. He is not asked to be consistent, or for that matter even to make an attempt at being a decent human.

Why would they? Trump was simply embracing the typical attitude manifested by conservative evangelicals and their incredible persecution complex. They are the ones who are constantly exerting their influence and power over others, oftentimes working to deprive others of the same rights they enjoy, all while whining about how society is unfair to them and out to get them.
