These things are so slow. Why can’t they talk about the joys of Russian roulette? Don’t they love Russian shit?
Trump: The problem with the Army tanks like cars and like trucks, the problem is that you would have to bring a battery pack along. You're going to pull it like a little wagon, like a child pulls a wagon. So they want to build a army tank. But, you know, the battery is very big pic.twitter.com/ezyt4AHZ0x— Acyn (@Acyn) June 15, 2024
That dummy lives in a world of his own, where he knows everything about everything. The saddest part is the people around him have to know that he's just spewing nonsense, but are unwilling or unable to call it out.
I don’t even know why I am even be surprised. Those two belong so much together. Two frauds, grifters, antisemites ….almost a caricature of the horseshoe theory.
i predicted candy would become the MAGA face of antisemitism back in october. no surprise she’s found her new people
On the one hand, social media has probably caused serious harm to a few generations of young people. On the other, we get interactions like this. pic.twitter.com/JTsNtqAzZk— Definitely Danny (@SemperWry) June 16, 2024
As usual it all passes under the radar but Quisling - with an audience much bigger than CNN, had to part company with Ben Shapiro / Daily Wire because she's in the neo-nazi part of the base now
It is just shocking the bias and hypocrisy and the way the media just shrug their shoulders. My wife's friend is going through a divorce and her ex is doing things with his new girlfriend, he never did for her or with her. My wife has told her it's just a tactic to upset you and make you look crazy and she has come around to that. I told you that story so I could ask you this. Is he press doing the same thing? Like just being so two faced in their coverage because they know it upsets liberals and fair minded people?
I think it is two completely different phenomena. The one thing is a natural result of all breakups of long-lasting relationships; the worst part is watching them do for somebody else what they wouldn't do for you-- be it sex in the shower, going to U2 concerts, or putting less paprika in the paprikash, whatever. And that is a natural phenomenon; something may even have been what the breakup was over, but if their next one also wants/expects it, they're apt to think "Oh so it was me not them, this is actually what normal people do, I better change or I'm gonna die lonely." Hurts like hell sometimes, but it is just part of the dynamic-- like going to a movie and being surrounded by PDAs coming out and it hurting to be alone. The other is, I think, a consequence of the buying up of media entities, especially newspapers. They have been corporately and conservatively owned so long now that editorial level positions have been turned over to right wing candidates to please ownership, and they in turn have figured out that it doesn't matter who writes the stories as long as the editor writes the headline and adjusts the syntax to make everything look bad for Biden...
One of the reasons why I always write that the media is stuck in the 80s, 90s, and 00s, is that a lot of them came of age during the age of Reagan/HW Bush, or for the younger cohort, came of age during W Bush. In the documentary The Reagans, a reporter says that they enjoyed covering Reagan. That's telling. There's a reason I've said on here that a lot of journalists wished they were working in Hollywood or covering sports. As for why the media is like this, CBS's Les Moonves said it best, "It might not be great for America but Trump is great for ratings." Michelle Wolf said it best, they love him because he helps sell their books and helps them profit. The likes of Olivia Nuzzi don't like that Biden's people are pretty much tight lipped on anything while Trump was pretty much an open door. Biden isn't an Obama, Trump, Clinton, or Reagan with charisma, but a generic politician with a goofy uncle vibe. And he's also got the serious uncle vibe, which I think is a tad intimidating to most journos. Especially after covering Trump. That said, it is funny that Biden's talking to most media outlets except the NY Times.

" "In 1815 we took a little trip Along with Colonel Jackson Down the mighty Mississip' We took a little bacon and we took a little beans and we met the bloody British at the town of New Orleans" (Jimmy Driftwood) "I'm going away to the last resort In a week or two, real soon Where the fish don't bite but once a night By the cold light of the moon The horses scream the nightmares dream And the dead men all wear shoes 'Cause everybody's dancing Those late John Garfield blues." (John Prine) Closest I can come, but New Orleans was mud flats not beaches, and Garfield is not the guy going to the last resort... seems like there ought to be something about Nixon arriving at San Clemente...
